strange problem
Hi, I have some strange problem with my machine It just freeze (no keybord or mouse activity, no ping reply). It happens while I am in X. And from time to time I get this message: "hde: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } hde: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }" The system is Intel 440BX, PIII 700, radeon9000pro, Linux Kernel 2.5.63, XFree-4.3, but I got same problems with kernel 2.4.20 and XFree-4.2 Any idea what is wrong ? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". ntp problem (newbie)
Hi, I try to install and configure a ntpd on a machine I do apt-get install ntp ntpdate ntp-doc When it prompts for an ntp server to synchronize I get on already working. It asks me if I want him to overwrite ntp.conf and I say yes. mlterm problem
Hi, I installed the latest mlterm.deb from unstable and when I tried to execute it it says: mlterm: relocation error: mlterm: undefined symbol: fribidi_get_type... I tried to downgrade from unstable to testing or stable, but I still get the same error. Any idea where is the error ? apache + mass virtual hosting +tomcat please help
Hi, I have configured apache with mass virtual hosting by adding following line to apache's conf files. VirtualDocumentRoot /var/vhosts/%0/httpdocs/ and everything seems to work just fine with a little exception. Few virtual sites needs tomcat in order to work. I have installed tomcat4 and mod_jk2, but I have no idea how could I tell that www.tomcatsite.com which is /var/vhosts/www.tomcatsite.com/httpdocs is a site that requires java ? strange ps
Hi, I have a computer which behaves strange. ps doesn't show all the processes runing on the machine. For example if I have apache, mysql, qmail, tinydns running it will show only first 3 of them (or something like that). If I stop one shown process and I run ps again I will be able to see a hidden process. Then if I start again the process, let's say apache and run ps again I won't be able to see apache process, which is running just fine. The machine is running kernel 2.4. awstats with mass virtual hosting
Hi, I have a machine with a lot of virtual hosts. For that I am using apache with mass virtual hosting. Now I have to run awstats on each single virtual host. I was curious what is the beste metod to do that ? As far as I read I have to have one conf for each virtual host. I was curios how is it better for awstats ? To have one big log file, each line containing the virtual host, or to have one log file for each virtual host ? Any suggestions, idea, etc. how to do that will be apreciate. dhcp problem
Hi, I have a network with computers with dual boot (linux and windows). They get ip from a debian dhcp3 server. When a client boot the machine in windows he gets ip A, and when the same client boots the machine in linux gets ip A+1. How could I make it receive the same ip, no matter what OS the machine boots. In linux I edited /etc/dhclient-eth0.conf and I put send client-host-name and send dhcp-client-identifier. I know I could simply solve the problem by bonding ip with mac, but I don't want to do that. Hi, Every time when I try an apt-get install anything I got the following error: Setting up locales (2.3.2.ds1-12) ... Generating locales... en_US.ISO-8859-1... done en_US.ISO-8859-15... done en_US.UTF-8... done ro_RO.UTF-8...LC_ADDRESS: `country_ab3' value does not match `country_num' value dpkg: error processing locales (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Any idea how could I fix this problem ?
