debian patches from upstream
Hi, What is the current workflow of the patch propagation from linux mainline to debian stable kernel versions? are the downstream debian kernels rebased against the latest mainline kernel version or are they just rebased against the lts upstream version from which the debian kernel was initially forked from. if so, how soon? Also, what is the difference between the patch propagation for the current supported debain kernel versions. i.e if stretch and buster are currently being supported, are the same upstream patches applied to both kernel versions or is there a difference? Best, - Ghani

Bug#942793: RM: trafficserver/7.0.0-6+deb9u2
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: rm -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA512 Dear release managers, Please remove trafficserver from Stretch next point release. This version hass been EOL upstream for 2 years now, and security patches backport became to much invasive to be efficient. I prefer this version to be removed from old-stable releases. Did you contact the armel porters? Maybe they can have a look (X-Debbugs-CC them on the FTBFS bug)? And if you/we want to go ahead with this transition without that FTBFS fixed, we'll need to remove all reverse dependencies from testing. Depending on how badly this transition is needed (now, or in due time) the severity of the FTBFS bug could be set appropriately and autoremovals can do their jobs. Hi, It's (really past) time to consider a date for the second buster point release. I've listed some suggested dates below; please indicate which you would be available for. - November 2nd - I'm not available; also means that the freeze would have to be this coming weekend - November 9th - November 16th - November 23rd - November 30th - a little late, and I'm not available Regards, Adam
Bug#894663: transition: wxwidgets3.0
On Wed, Aug 07, 2019 at 08:29:50AM +1200, Olly Betts wrote: > Now that we're post-release, Scott Talbert has filed bugs and the > transition is progressing well (we've gone from 17% to 41% in just > a week). We're now at 94% with only 3 packages left: * mrpt was updated but the build failed on mipsel due to running out of memory and it's now entangled in auto-opencv. But it's due for AUTORM on 2019-10-28 so that should resolve itself within a week. * codelite is orphaned and needs a new upstream version, but one of the upstream developers has prepared an update which is currently in the process of being sponsored. If that doesn't happen, AUTORM is 2019-10-30. * filezilla seems to be immune to AUTORM (presumably due to its popcon score). The maintainer appears to have prepared an upload 3.5 weeks ago but not uploaded it: https://qa.debian.org/cgi-bin/vcswatch?package=filezilla I have nudged them via #933416 and offered to sponsor it. If there's no response I'll just upload it (it's already within the dev-ref rules for NMUing). I've already checked what's in the VCS builds OK in current unstable. So one way or another everything should be resolved by the end of this month. We can then upload wxwidgets3.0 dropping the GTK2 packages. Cheers, Olly
