Thanks.

However, after discussing this a bit more with upstream, I found there's
actually a second error in the package; upstream ships pre-minified
javascript files, which we remove, but in one case the link to the
correct file was not updated in the html that we ship, resulting in no
functionality for that particular bit (also the RDM test server).

To fix that, on top of the debdiff that I sent before, the following
would be necessary:

diff --git a/tools/rdm/static/rdmtests.html b/tools/rdm/static/rdmtests.html

Let's do this one once perl has migrated to testing.

Disclaimer: I didn't check anything on the code side, I've just built
the package locally and run d-i tests to check what happens with its
updated gpgv-udeb.

A d-i netboot gtk image seems to work just fine.

A d-i cdrom image, used to build a netinst image, seems to work just
fine as well. (I've taken the opportunity to test the 4.9.0-8-amd64 ABI
in the process; no obvious issues there either.)

So no objections from the d-i side.

djmount and linux-igd would get removed:

% dak rm -Rn -s buster djmount linux-igd
Will remove the following packages from buster:

   djmount | 0.71-7.1 | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips,
mips64el, mipsel, ppc64el, s390x
 linux-igd | 1.0+cvs20070630-6 | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386,
mips, mips64el, mipsel, ppc64el, s390x

No dependency problem found.

If not fixed by the maintainer, we'll NMU amule. gerbera needs a sourceful
upload in any case to switch back to libupnp-dev. All the other issues have been
fixed.

gmrender-resurrect would need to switch back to libupnp-dev, too. It was
switched to libupnp1.8-dev when fixing #884246 (see
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-pupnp-1.8.html)

Other than that I agree with Sebastian that all blockers are gone (and
djmount and linux-igd should be removed).

Uwe

Bug#912685: debian/rules is not binNMU safe

2018-11-02 Thread Laurent Bigonville
Source: net-snmp
Version: 5.7.3+dfsg-4
Severity: serious

Hi,

In debian/rules you have the following:

UPSTREAM_VERSION = $(shell dpkg-parsechangelog | egrep '^Version:' | cut -f 2
-d ':' | sed 's/ //' | sed 's/~dfsg.*$$//')
COMPAT_VERSION = $(UPSTREAM_VERSION)~dfsg
[...]
override_dh_makeshlibs:
dh_makeshlibs -plibsnmp$(LIB_VERSION) -V"libsnmp$(LIB_VERSION) (>=
$(COMPAT_VERSION))"

When a binNMU is scheduled, UPSTREAM_VERSION is set to 5.7.3+dfsg-4+b1
and then COMPAT_VERSION is set to 5.7.3+dfsg-4+b1~dfsg which is
completely boggus

All the reverse-dependency will have this boggus version in their
generated dependency list.

Why aren't you using "dh_makeshlibs -V" or the version macro that are
present in /usr/share/dpkg/pkg-info.mk ?

Kind regards,

Laurent Bigonville

I'm OK with this, but because espeakup builds a udeb this officially
needs a KiBi-ack (although fwiw I'm assuming the changes don't actually
end up affecting the installer's use).

Indeed, the systemd service is not used inside the installer.
