Bug#875695: stretch-pu: package apt/1.4.8

I'd really appreciate it if somebody could spend some time
reviewing this diff this weekend. (this email probably takes
longer to read than the diff I guess...).

I'm not sure what the schedule for the next point release is
(last I heard was late Sep), but this thing is sitting around
built, tagged locally, and signed since 10 days.

There's also at least one downstream user of the 1.4 series, and
I'd prefer to avoid needless divergence there (there is at least
a second one, but not sure if they want to do updates or not). It
also gives us more coverage than just proposed-updates.

Bug#876527: stretch-pu: package gdm3/3.22.3-3

2017-09-23 Thread Laurent Bigonville
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
Tags: stretch
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org

Hi,

XDMCP support in gdm 3.22 is currently completely broken (see: #873199)

I've backported some patches from the later releases and from git master
fix this. The majority of the patches are already included in sid/buster
version, the other ones will be included in the 2nd of Octobre point
release.

I've tested this locally with one client (both direct and indirect
connections) and it's working as expected.

Regards,

Laurent Bigonville

That's alright. I see this is already started and binNMUs are needed. Is someone
from the ocaml team handling these, or should I?

2017-09-23 Thread Anton Gladky
I did not check them. Just generated the list of symbols and
no symbols were removed since the last versions (+4 new
symbols)

So, from my point of view, it is enough to be sure that everything
is OK with the back-compatibility. If it is not the case, just let me
know and I will try to build rdeps against new gl2ps.

Cheers

Anton

That's not enough. E.g. symbols may have changed their signatures, or structs
may have renamed or deleted some members...

It's not quite clear to me why this (and indeed the python3 dependency)

I've been trying to unpick exactly whether this issue is fixed in unstable
or not. I can only assume so since the security tracker claims it so
(https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2017-9765) but your
changelog for 2.8.49-1 doesn't mention the CVE. I presume the CVE wasn't
yet public before you fixed it?

This is why a tracking bug against the package, even after the event,
is helpful when someone who has no other connection with the package gets a
request to look into it.

(Incidentally the fixed versions on #859932 confused me until I realised
that you're including previous uploads in your changes every time you
upload. You really needn't do that, it just ends up generating lies in the
version tracking.)

Please feel free to upload.

We unfortunately won't be able to accept it currently, as +deb9u1
picked up a dependency on the latest ffmpeg security packages, and
missing builds for that mean that it isn't in p-u. I'm hoping that can
be resolved soon, however.

Missing security builds for ffmpeg, block asterisk

2017-09-23 Thread Jonathan Wiltshire
Hi,

We seem to be missing the following builds of ffmpeg 7:3.2.7-1~deb9u1:

arm64 armel armhf mips64el mipsel ppc64el s390x

This blocks accepting the asterisk DSA as well, because they have
dependencies on this version of ffmpeg.

Could you investigate and sync the missing builds please?

Thanks,

Bug#876561: transition: gdal

2017-09-23 Thread Bas Couwenberg
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

For the Debian GIS team I'd like to transition to GDAL 2.2.2.

Like the previous transition to GDAL 2.2.1 (#866797), there is no SONAME
bump, only the virtual ABI package changed to account for the C++ symbol
changes.

All reverse dependencies rebuilt successfully with GDAL 2.2.2 from
experimental as summarized below, except gazebo.

gazebo (7.8.1+dfsg-1) FTBFS for some unclear reason unrelated to gdal
(it FTBFS with plain unstable too):

 [ 88%] Built target gazebo_gui
 make[2]: Leaving directory '/build/gazebo-7.8.1+dfsg/obj-x86_64-linux-gnu'
Makefile:165: recipe for target 'all' failed

libgdal-grass doesn't need a binNMU as the 2.2.2 version will be
uploaded to unstable instead. liblas likewise doesn't need a binNMU,
the version is experimental will be moved to unstable instead.

A complication for the transition is the inability to build the gdal
package on armhf, due to an issue with ca-certificates-java:

 Setting up ca-certificates-java (20170531+nmu1) ...
 Error: missing `server' JVM at
`/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-armhf/jre/lib/arm/server/libjvm.so'.
Please install or use the JRE or JDK that contains these missing components.

But openjdk-8-jdk-headless cannot be installed because it depends on
ca-certificates-java, see:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=gdal&arch=armhf&ver=2.2.1%2Bdfsg-2%2Bb2&stamp=1505204615&raw=0

Ben file:

title = "gdal";
is_affected = .depends ~ "gdal-abi-2-2-1" | .depends ~ "gdal-abi-2-2-2";
is_good = .depends ~ "gdal-abi-2-2-2";
is_bad = .depends ~ "gdal-abi-2-2-1";

Kind Regards,

Bas
