MariaDB does not have any autopkg tests yet, but I would be happy to
take contributions. Please note that at the moment
https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/ says 'Proxy error' and the DEP-8 seems
quite unfinished (http://dep.debian.net/deps/dep8/). The documentation
at http://ci.debian.net/doc/ is though OK.

However the main test in MySQL
(http://ci.debian.net/data/packages/unstable/amd64/m/mysql-5.5/20140830_020544.autopkgtest.log)
seems to be the standard MySQL testsuite maintained by upstream.
Please note that this same testsuite is run in *every* MariaDB build
as part of standard source builds in Debian, and even if the build is
OK but testsuite fails, the whole build fails and new binaries will
not enter unstable. This does not of course account for situations
when some other dependency updates and brakes the test suite result
without any changes in the MariaDB package, but it is still pretty
good and guarantees that binaries with failing tests does not enter
Debian in the first place.

The MySQL builds also does the same thing, but at least in the log
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=mysql-5.5&arch=s390x&ver=5.5.37-1&stamp=1398384002
it seems that the binaries are generated and enter unstable despite
the fact, that the test suite run had failures. However takes on
fixing the MySQL autopkg tests should probably fix this too.

libaudclient was accepted and now it was successfully built with
audacious{,-plugins}. Can I upload the new libsidplayfp now and ask
for a binNMU of audacious-plugins after that?

Just to be clear, there is no library transition for the 5.5 -> 5.6
upgrade of mysql so I think we are OK timing wise.

The plan we have discussed is to baseline on 5.6 as the baseline for
compatibility; Robie Basak has been working on the mysql-5.5 -> 5.6
upgrade and I should be in a position to review and sponsor that in
the next couple of weeks.

In terms of forks/variants, Percona have been working on Percona
Server and Percona XtraDB Cluster 5.6 packaging which I have been
reviewing; I believe that these are in a state where they are ready
for upload - again I'll be looking at these in the next few weeks.

In terms of ongoing (security) support for Percona and MariaDB, this
is also a concern that I have; My take is that there needs to be a
clear maintainer from within the pkg-mysql team for each variant,
otherwise general and security updates will not be sustainable.

As Otto has already stated, he has MariaDB pretty much in hand. He's
also doing a great job on security updates for Ubuntu 14.04 (nice work
Otto).

For Percona, George Lorch has taken ownership of the percona-*
packages and has put in alot of process and automation around package
production.

So long as these maintenance commitments continue, I don't think we
should be blocking variants from release.

JFTR PHP will sort-of-break when compiled with mysql-5.5 and linked with
mysql-5.6 spouting warnings about library version mismatch like crazy.
(I could patch that out since I am doing that in my PPAs anyway if I am

Yes, 0.9.2 package is ready and available on the Debian Med SVN. I asked
Andreas to take a look to my (debian) code. There is just a problem with
the watch file as it uses qa.d.o sf.php that is not up-to-date.

On a sid pbuilder (with a manually installed libquazip) all goes fine
and lintian looks happy of the result.

Thanks for your help.

Bug#755539: Elastix needs binnmu after ITK

2014-09-01 Thread Steve M. Robbins
The recent build failure of elastix (#759945) is caused by the
libhdf5.so path having changed, presumably due to #755539. The path
is encoded into insighttoolkit4-dev's file
/usr/lib/cmake/ITK-4.6/ITKTargets-none.cmake so Elastix will need a
binnmu as soon as insighttoolkit is rebuilt.
