Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: rm Please consider removing clive/0.4.18-1 from Lenny. It does no longer work due to changes to the web sites it extracts the video URLs from. I tried downloading videos from all supported hosts (according to the README): Youtube, Google Video, Dailymotion, Guba (seems to have closed), Metacafe, Sevenload and Myvideo. clive has since been rewritten in Perl (Lenny's version uses Python) making backporting changes non-trivial. Also the Debian Perl Group does not have that much Python expertise ;) A working backport is available for Lenny. Which is it? > > Seems ok though in principle. Actually, upstream already fixed that bug and I should just close it as fixed in 2:3.5.6~dfsg-1...:-) Debian bug #574468 was forwarded as upstream #7265. This bug was basically ignored until now.. However, later on, upstream got another bug report about this fd leak problem: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7684 They fixed it, with the fix you mention. When I discovered that, this morning, I marked upstream #7265 as a duplicated of #7684...so it is now marked RESOLVED. So, in short, there shouldn't be any need for a freeze exception as the bug is supposedly fixed. However, I would prefer that the submitter of #606350 confirms that he does no longer experience this bug with the version in squeeze. What's puzzling is that he reported the bug way after 3.5.6 entered testing, so I would like him to mention the version of samba packages that were installed on his system the day he filed the bug report. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#608707: unblock: libnih/1.0.2-2
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: freeze-exception Please unblock package libnih libnih currently ships the library development files in /lib. The recent discussion on debian-devel [1] showed that this is not desirable and even violates the FHS, thus could be considered RC. I've prepared a updated package where I also drops the libtool la files, which has been a release goal. Both libnih-dev and libnih-dbus-dev ship a pkg-config file and no other libtool la files are referencing libnih.la or libnih-dbus.la, so this should be safe. The changelog reads: libnih (1.0.2-2) unstable; urgency=low * Install library development files to /usr/lib and not /lib. * Remove libtool *.la files as there are no reverse dependencies referencing them. * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.1. No further changes. -- Michael Biebl Sun, 02 Jan 2011 21:09:40 +0100 The complete debdiff is attached. Re: Bug#608187: xresprobe: FTBFS on i386: error: 'IF_MASK' undeclared
[Holger Levsen] > Petter has replaced it with a recommends on ddccontrol|xresprobe already. Yes, in our svn. But initial testing of ddccontrol seem to indicate that it do not report the DDC info I want from the monitor. Frequency info is missing. So ddccontrol do not seem to be a sensible alternative to xresprobe, and I might have to revert it in svn. In the mean time, I have uploaded a fixed version of xresprobe to unstable, fixing the RC issue and hopefully making the package fit for squeeze again. I am aware that at least on of the maintainers in the X team want to remove the package instead, as it is no longer used when setting up X.org. It might be relevant for the release teams judgement. :) Happy hacking, -- Petter Reinholdtsen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-release-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
