Bug#730157: kdepimlibs FTBFS on ia64, linker segfaults.

This is likely bug#718047. Removing the --as-needed switch from the ld
invoke is the tentative workaround for that.

Bug#730260: kalgebra: incorrect simplification of symbolic expressions

2013-11-23 Thread Marko Knöbl
Package: kalgebra
Version: 4:4.8.4-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I am experiencing very strange and incorrect simplifications of symbolic
expressions which I enter in KAlgebra.

For example, if I enter the expession "2-(x+2-2*x)", I would expect the
expression to be simplified to "x".

Instead, this is what happens:

If I enter the above expression into the console, it is changed to
"2-(x+2)-2*x" and the result is printed as "-x" (Which neither fits the
original formula nor the modified one). If I enter the expression in the
2D Graph tab, the plot shows the graph of f(x) = -x

Bug#730310: kmail: Could not negotiate SSL Certificate

2013-11-23 Thread Shawn Sörbom
Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When I try to connect to a private e-mail server over pop3s using a self-signed
certificate, kmail sends a notification as follows:
"Error Could not connect to , could not negotiate SSL certificate."
Where is the name of the machine I was trying to connect to. Using
unencrypted pop3, it works fine. Encrypted GMail using pop3 SSL encryption also
works fine. The private server is using standard ports for POP3 SSL traffic.
When I tested the private server using a kubuntu VM it worked fine. I have not
been able to try Debian testing or unstable yet.

Bug#730157: kdepimlibs FTBFS on ia64, linker segfaults.

This is likely bug#718047. Removing the --as-needed switch from the ld
invoke is the tentative workaround for that.
I just tried to reproduce the issue on merulo and the package failed
with a ld segfault but on a different file, I guess whether a given
binary succeeds or fails to link is somewhat sensitive to the
environment the compiler is running in.

Anyway I was able to disable --as-needed and get a successful build.
Patch is attatched, no intent to NMU.

Bug#730327: kstars: FTBFS w/o writable HOME: tests fail

2013-11-23 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: kstars
Version: 4:4.11.3-2
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

Builds of kstars in environments without writable HOME directories (as
on nearly all autobuilders) have been failing:
