Bug#569931: oxygen-ait theme crashes in libjpeg62
Package: kdebase-workspace-kgreet-plugins Version: 4:4.3.4-4 Severity: grave Since I upgraded unstable (today, 15.2.2010) kdms greeter crashes when using the theme /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/themes/oxygen-air with a segmentation fault (in libjpeg62 when decompressing). Theme /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/themes/oxygen works. I think this has something todo with the upgrade of kdelibs5 and libplasma3 (or liblzma1 to liblzma2)? Bug#569940: Preference for file type
Package: openoffice.org-writer Version: 1:3.2.0~rc4-1 X-Debbugs-Cc: oku...@packages.debian.org Severity: minor Heyho! (Hmm. Does X-Debbugs-Cc work in this way? Not sure ...) On a fresh installation (squeeze plus new oo.org), KDE prefers okular as default application to open odt files over oo.org. I'm not sure who should "fix" this in which way - I solved it by appending InitialPreference=5 to openoffice.org-writer.desktop (I wanted a global solution because we have a multiuser environment. KDE's file preferences are the more usual way to go for a single user and works just fine.) While I agree that which application should be default is really a matter of opinion, using an editing program in preference to a viewer (which also doesn't really render moderately complex documents well) seems sensible. thanks & cheers -- vbi -- featured product: Debian GNU/Linux - http://debian.org signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Maybe it should just be lowered? > While I agree that which application should be default is really a matter of > opinion, using an editing program in preference to a viewer (which also > doesn't really render moderately complex documents well) seems sensible. Bug#569931: closed by Andreas Barth (Bug#569931: fixed in libjpeg6b 6b-16.1)
Hello, I installed these vesions of libjpeg62 and libjpeg8 and this does NOT fix the issue. It still crashes in jpeg_start_decompress () from /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62 Not only kdm greeter crashes, konqueror and gwenview crash, too. It must have something to do with the upgrade from kdelibs-bin, kdelibs5 and libplasma3. If I downgraded them to 4:4.3.4-1 and reinstall liblzma1 the issue disappears. After all of them are rebuilt things should get better. Once kde4libs is rebuilt against the new libjpegs, it will be finally fixed. The rebuilds is handled automatically though, so no way to close in change log. /Sune -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
