Bug#380740: cannot connect to icq server - icq server thinks my client is too old
Package: kopete Version: 4:3.5.4-1 Severity: important I've upgraded to the new kdenetwork today and after restarting kde I cannot connect to the icq server anymore. Bug#380751: kdebase: Print key taken by global action "AccessKey" -- cannot be changed
Package: kdebase Version: 4:3.5.4-2 Severity: normal Hi all, since I have updated last night a lot of kde to 3.5.4-2, the Print key, which I had mapped to show yakuake is no longer under my control. Instead it always starts Ksnapshot. I can take it back temporarily by issuing "Block Global Shortcuts" twice: The first time around Print does nothing as expected, the second time around my original Print is restored. When I change the access key (a global shortcut) of yakuake to Print, kde tells me that Print has already been allocated to the global action "AccessKey". When I tell it to change it nevertheless, nothing changes, the complaint is shown the next time as well. After a restart of kde, everything is back to Ksnapshot. Thanks in advance. Bug#380740: cannot connect to icq server - icq server thinks my client is too old
Package: kopete Version: 4:3.5.4-1 Tags: patch, sid Followup-For: Bug #380740 Hi, there is a bug report at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131598 which points to information at http://www.kde-forum.org/artikel/15097/Kopete-ICQ-protocol-changed-again-solved.html and a patch linked from that forum at http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=17185&action=view after which apparently it is only the "const WORD ICQ_BUILD" in line 240 of "kopete/protocols/oscar/liboscar/oscartypes.h" that has to be changed into "= 0x0BB8;", because after applying the patch here with apt-get source etc. my kopete client does again connect to ICQ. I have attached the patch from above source, thanks to whoever was the author, I could not have done it by myself because I am neither a developer nor a package maintainer. ;) Regards, Sebastian -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-1-686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages kopete depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.4-2core libraries and binaries for al ii libacl1 2.2.41-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-22.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr12.4.32-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.8-1The Network Audio System (NAS). Yeah, I guess we should setup some alioth project + mailing list, and maybe an irc channel (#debian-desktop ?) If we had a common template with (for example) the logo of each environmment, wouldn't it be better ? I think that minor changes wouldn't hurt yes, but keep in mind that instead two images (etch and sid) we will start with six wallpapers. I don't really care if the size is sane, the artwork looks good and we've rules for the following changes. > - Ask artists to work on gdm and kdm themes based on the common wallpapers; agreed I would like to point out that this is based as in 'following the guidelines' and not really looking like the wallpapers as Joss pointed out on irc.
