Yeah, the .pc/.la files have the same problem. It looks like it's
scheduled to be fixed in 4.1.

Bug#327821: korn does not work with mbox files since KDE 3.4 transition

2005-09-12 Thread Sven Hoexter
Package: korn
Version: 4:3.4.2-1
Severity: important

Hi,
after the KDE 3.3 -> 3.4 transition korn no longer works with mbox files.

Error message:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ korn
korn: ERROR: : couldn't create slave : Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unbekanntes Protokoll "mbox".
korn:
korn: ERROR: The next KIO-error occurred by counting: Could not start process
Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unbekanntes Protokoll "mbox".

I'm unsure why the klauncher error is in german but it translates to
"Unknown protocol mbox".

I'm not sure if it's a bug in the Debian package or if it belongs upstream
so I decided to fill it here.

Attempting to build amaroK for KDE with custom things, results in this.

Note QProgressBar is related to libqt-mt and running amarok 1.3.1

It seems that QProgressBar is not included properly, or qt3 is not built
properly with gcc 4. Can resolve with my own qt3 (custom built) does
not solve issue obviously.

Thanks.

Bug#327843: kwifimanager: applet crashes with new libiw28

Subject: [3.4.2] kwifimanager causes kicker crash
X-Mailing-List: archive/latest/24394
User-Agent: KMail/1.8.2

Hello list,

This morning, when firing up my trusty KDE, I was seeing repeated kicker
crashes. Some searching (and testing with a blank .kde) led me to the faulty
package: kwifimanager. For some reason, as soon as I include the applett in
kicker, it crashes.

I've temporarily removed the kwifimanager package to be able to use KDE, but
I'm pretty stumped - it worked perfectly yesterday, the only thing I've done
since is remove -dev packages...

The backtrace is useless.

Anyone any pointer?

Thanks,

Jan

To follow up on myself, this is caused by the upgrade of libiw28. Downgrading
to libiw28-27+28pre8-1 solves the problem again.

Right... will fix by itself in the next upload.

(For other packagers: latest version of libiw28 drops the
_GLOBAL_OFFSET_TABLE_ symbol; I don't know very well what causes this,
but a simple rebuild will fix. Was there a kdenetwork upload pending,
  Luk?)

Bug#301398: Sealed & Confidential

2005-09-12 Thread Danida
Mr. Mitchel Danida.
Tel/ 229 40 40 19.

Hello,

I am Mr. Mitchel Danida. This mail is written to solicit your assistance to be
presented as next of kin to our deceased client Mr. Ronald Lake. He made a
fixed deposit valued US 7.5M,(Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars)
on July 1998 for 36 months maturity, with an intent of putting up a gold
mining company here in Cotonou and upon the maturity this bank started
contacting him but to no avail

On 31 January, 2000, our clientele along with his wife died in a plane
crash of Alaska Airlines Flight number 261. You shall read more about
the crash on visiting this site
(http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/02/01/alaska.airlines.list/)

Under a clear and legitimate agreement with you, I shall seek your
consent to be presented as the next of Kin, so that the proceeds of this
account now valued US 7.5 million, will be paid to you, so that the
Bank will not confiscate this fund, as the banking law and guidelines here
stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after four years, the
money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund.

For the sake of transparency on this matter, you are free to make immediate
contact with me through my mailbox or phone line, for further
information related to this matter.

Thank you very much for your anticipated acceptance while I expect your prompt
response.

Yours faithfully,
Mr. Mitchel Danida.

Aaa. I just removed this some days ago because I couldn't remember
what this was good for ...

it works much better now, although kmail still dirties inodes in
~/.kde/share/... . it seems, this behaviour only appears for "cached imap"
accounts (aka disconnected imap).

korganizer does sync a file outside of /tmp, it stops doing this when alarms
are deactivated.

best whishes & many thx,
tom

Package: qt4-dev-tools
Version: 4.0.1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

on this system both Qt3 and Qt4 development tools are installed. In
linguist-qt4, the Help->Manual menu entry launches /usr/bin/assistant
alternative which points to /usr/bin/assistant-qt3. Unfortunately,
assistant-qt3 is not able to display the help file.

A similar problem exists in designer-qt4.

Of course, either the qt4-dev-tools package or the admin could change
the alternative. But I don't think that would be a proper fix because
linguist-qt3 would then use assistant-qt4. Therefore, it would be
better if linguist-qt4 and designer-qt4 could be patched to launch
assistant-qt4 instead of assistant.

Hi,

Your package has a QtSql.pc and Qt3Support.pc pkg-config file
included. Packages using that fail to build because you're
atleast missing a dependency on libmysqlclient14-dev, and looks
like on libpq-dev too. Maybe some others?

Bug#327821: korn does not work with mbox files since KDE 3.4 transition

2005-09-12 Thread Sven Hoexter
Hi,
it seems to be a problem with the dependency. The current depends line
includes "kdepim-kio-plugins | kdebase-kio-plugins" but korn needs the mbox
plugin and maybe others from the "kdepim-kio-plugins" package.

Hope you can change that for the next release to something that fits.

Regards,
Sven

Bug#327879: fixed

2005-09-12 Thread Debian Archive Maintenance
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

 akregator | 1.0-beta10-1 | source, arm, hppa, m68k
akregator-i18n | 1.0-beta10-1 | all
akregator-konq-plugin | 1.0-beta10-1 | alpha, arm, hppa, i386, ia64, m68k,
mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
akregator-kontact-plugin | 1.0-beta10-1 | alpha, arm, hppa, i386, ia64, m68k,
mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite

When knotes is restarted, tabs in all previously edited notes are
replaced with spaces (i.e. one tab changes to one space). The bug
is reported in the KDE bug tracking system:

  http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75507

The program maintainer is unable to reproduce the bug, suggesting
it's a distribution specific problem.

This bug is reproducible with default knotes settings.

Bug#327948: kdebindings: uninstallable; needs rebuild for the Qt/KDE transition

2005-09-12 Thread Adeodato Simó
Package: kdebindings
Version: 4:3.3.2-1
Severity: grave
Tags: sid

Hello,

This is a grave bug filed against your package because it depends on
libqt3c102-mt, which no longer exists, thus rendering yor package
uninstallable in unstable. As part of the C++ ABI transition, this
library has moved to the libqt3-mt package.

Simply recompiling and uploading your package should be enough to fix
this; as per this mail [1], you need not bump your Qt, kdelibs or aRts
build-dependencies. Beware, though, that that may not be the case for
all the involved librares. Also, make sure that you build the package
in an up to date and clean sid environment, so that final dependencies
are correct. Please do this as soon as possible in order to accelerate
  the Qt/KDE transition to testing.

[1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/09/msg0.html

Perhaps you find that your package fails to compile with gcc4. If
that's the case, there's probably a bug about it in the BTS, and it
may include a patch. If not (or if you have doubts about the
correctness of the patch), you may be able to find a fix in upstream's
CVS, or in the Ubuntu distribution. If your package fails only in arm,
m68k, and hppa, see instructions in the above mail.

Finally, if there's a strong reason for which your package should not
be NMUed, please note so in this bug report. Prospective NMUers will
read your reasoning, and will decide if it's strong enough to delay
  their upload.

Thanks for your cooperation, and happy hacking!

P.S.: There may be an already reported bug against this package for
this very same reason. I've checked for that, and will be merging the
bugs soon. The reason for still filing this bug was to have the
opportunity of including the small bits of information above. I
  apologize for the inconvenience.
