Bug#327821: korn does not work with mbox files since KDE 3.4 transition
Package: korn Version: 4:3.4.2-1 Severity: important Hi, after the KDE 3.3 -> 3.4 transition korn no longer works with mbox files. Error message: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ korn korn: ERROR: : couldn't create slave : Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Unbekanntes Protokoll "mbox". korn: korn: ERROR: The next KIO-error occurred by counting: Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Unbekanntes Protokoll "mbox". I'm unsure why the klauncher error is in german but it translates to "Unknown protocol mbox". I'm not sure if it's a bug in the Debian package or if it belongs upstream so I decided to fill it here. Bug#327843: kwifimanager: applet crashes with new libiw28
Package: kwifimanager Version: 4:3.4.2-2 Severity: serious - Forwarded message from Jan De Luyck <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - From: Jan De Luyck <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: debian-kde@lists.debian.org Date: Thu, 8 Sep 2005 07:27:56 +0200 Subject: [3.4.2] kwifimanager causes kicker crash X-Mailing-List: archive/latest/24394 User-Agent: KMail/1.8.2 Hello list, This morning, when firing up my trusty KDE, I was seeing repeated kicker crashes. Some searching (and testing with a blank .kde) led me to the faulty package: kwifimanager. For some reason, as soon as I include the applett in kicker, it crashes. I've temporarily removed the kwifimanager package to be able to use KDE, but I'm pretty stumped - it worked perfectly yesterday, the only thing I've done since is remove -dev packages... (For other packagers: latest version of libiw28 drops the _GLOBAL_OFFSET_TABLE_ symbol; I don't know very well what causes this, but a simple rebuild will fix. Bug#301398: Sealed & Confidential
Mr. Mitchel Danida. Tel/ 229 40 40 19. Hello, I am Mr. Mitchel Danida. This mail is written to solicit your assistance to be presented as next of kin to our deceased client Mr. Ronald Lake. He made a fixed deposit valued US 7.5M,(Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars) on July 1998 for 36 months maturity, with an intent of putting up a gold mining company here in Cotonou and upon the maturity this bank started contacting him but to no avail On 31 January, 2000, our clientele along with his wife died in a plane crash of Alaska Airlines Flight number 261. You shall read more about the crash on visiting this site (http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/02/01/alaska.airlines.list/) Under a clear and legitimate agreement with you, I shall seek your consent to be presented as the next of Kin, so that the proceeds of this account now valued US 7.5 million, will be paid to you, so that the Bank will not confiscate this fund, as the banking law and guidelines here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after four years, the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund. For the sake of transparency on this matter, you are free to make immediate contact with me through my mailbox or phone line, for further information related to this matter. Thank you very much for your anticipated acceptance while I expect your prompt response. Yours faithfully, Mr. Mitchel Danida. Alternative E-mail :- [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I just removed this some days ago because I couldn't remember what this was good for ... it works much better now, although kmail still dirties inodes in ~/.kde/share/... . it seems, this behaviour only appears for "cached imap" accounts (aka disconnected imap). korganizer does sync a file outside of /tmp, it stops doing this when alarms are deactivated. best whishes & many thx, tom -- Anyone who isn't confused here doesn't really know what's going on. pgpp3uHgUhtWu.pgp Description: PGP signature

In linguist-qt4, the Help->Manual menu entry launches /usr/bin/assistant alternative which points to /usr/bin/assistant-qt3. Unfortunately, assistant-qt3 is not able to display the help file. A similar problem exists in designer-qt4. Of course, either the qt4-dev-tools package or the admin could change the alternative. But I don't think that would be a proper fix because linguist-qt3 would then use assistant-qt4. Therefore, it would be better if linguist-qt4 and designer-qt4 could be patched to launch assistant-qt4 instead of assistant. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (100, 'unstable'), (99, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages qt4-dev-tools depends on: ii libaudio2 1.7-3 The Network Audio System (NAS). Bug#327821: korn does not work with mbox files since KDE 3.4 transition
Hi, it seems to be a problem with the dependency. The current depends line includes "kdepim-kio-plugins | kdebase-kio-plugins" but korn needs the mbox plugin and maybe others from the "kdepim-kio-plugins" package. Hope you can change that for the next release to something that fits. The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the earliest. Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency problems. Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically removed from the Bug Tracking System. Bug#327948: kdebindings: uninstallable; needs rebuild for the Qt/KDE transition
Package: kdebindings Version: 4:3.3.2-1 Severity: grave Tags: sid Hello, This is a grave bug filed against your package because it depends on libqt3c102-mt, which no longer exists, thus rendering yor package uninstallable in unstable. As part of the C++ ABI transition, this library has moved to the libqt3-mt package. Simply recompiling and uploading your package should be enough to fix this; as per this mail [1], you need not bump your Qt, kdelibs or aRts build-dependencies. Beware, though, that that may not be the case for all the involved librares. Also, make sure that you build the package in an up to date and clean sid environment, so that final dependencies are correct. Please do this as soon as possible in order to accelerate the Qt/KDE transition to testing. [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/09/msg0.html Perhaps you find that your package fails to compile with gcc4. If that's the case, there's probably a bug about it in the BTS, and it may include a patch. If not (or if you have doubts about the correctness of the patch), you may be able to find a fix in upstream's CVS, or in the Ubuntu distribution. If your package fails only in arm, m68k, and hppa, see instructions in the above mail. Finally, if there's a strong reason for which your package should not be NMUed, please note so in this bug report. Prospective NMUers will read your reasoning, and will decide if it's strong enough to delay their upload. Thanks for your cooperation, and happy hacking! P.S.: There may be an already reported bug against this package for this very same reason. I've checked for that, and will be merging the bugs soon. The reason for still filing this bug was to have the opportunity of including the small bits of information above. I apologize for the inconvenience. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
