#194475: libqt3-mt-dev: library compiled without STL support?
Ralf, Do you know why STL is being disabled on Qt3 for Debian? Martin said you said "it breaks lotsa stuff". However, the bug reporter mentions that other dists use it... Thanks, Chris Cheney pgp1M7bGMvoDL.pgp Description: PGP signature

However, the bug reporter mentions > that other dists use it... He's wrong. I'm working closely with the SuSE packager on those issues to keep a level of compatibility. When we had STL enabled, it broke apps from compiling because developers use SuSE for developing Qt/KDE apps (guess why that was so...) That's why we disabled it to not cause any trouble for some apps to compile it. If you want to use Qt's STL there's a define that you need to pass in your CXXFLAGS=-DQT_STL for those programs that depend on the Qt STL support (which are the minority compared to the other fraction). If I remember correctly, I had this documented in the README.Debian in qt-x11-free - If you can't find it there tell me to add it (or add the above yourself :) Ralf Ralf > > Thanks, > > Chris Cheney -- We're not a company, we just produce better code at less costs. Re: Here we go
Seeing as we have this shiny new mailing list to use, I might just add a note that what's holding up kdeedu 3.1.3 is kstars - there's a significant amount of backporting and subsequent testing I need to do from HEAD where Jason has just changed the star catalogue amongst other things to resolve licensing issues (#198499). Ben.
KDE 3.1.3 & Sarge
I wanted to let everyone know my plans wrt KDE and Sarge. I am planning on doing one more upload (barring sarge being pushed back until next year...) that will have current KDE_3_1_BRANCH snapshot. I will start uploading this as soon as Qt 3.2.1 has been built on all archs, probably around 20030901. Right now it appears that the only real problem we will face is with the mips buildd since it is not being maintained very well (apparently). Chris Cheney pgp3tFQQ3S2k8.pgp Description: PGP signature
