Bug#736026: libvigraimpex FTBFS in unstable

severity 736026 serious

The version of libvigraimpex in unstable still Build-Depends on libtiff4-dev,
which makes the package unbuildable now. Are there any plans to upload a fix
for this issue to unstable in the near future?

The fix is to update libtool using the Debian package from sid (>=

patch I'm using here, to use dh_autoreconf to do this at build time.

texi2html builds fine for me, too. The bug I'm reporting is missing binary
dependencies in the resulting package, which is causing build failures in
other packages (also confirmed in a clean pbuilder chroot using the official
binary packages). The example above is from the failure of diffutils.

The previous version compiled fine. It seems that the 'sharedlib'

symlink when this occurs.

(I'm having debbugs Cc to the NMU'er.)

Bug#170005: xwave: Pure virtual build-depends on libxaw-dev

2002-11-21 Thread Daniel Schepler
Package: xwave
Severity: normal

This source package Build-Depends on libxaw-dev, which is wrong because it's
a pure virtual package. You need to specify a specific version of
libxaw-dev to be used (either libxaw6-dev or, preferably, libxaw7-dev).

(This is an automatically generated bug report based on an initial
template and on the contents of the Sources file for the main section.)

Bug#170161: nase-a60: Build-Depends on xlib6g*

2002-11-21 Thread Daniel Schepler
Package: nase-a60
Severity: normal

(This is an automatically generated bug, based on the current contents
of the Sources file for the main section.)

This source package contains a build dependency on xlib6g-dev. This
needs to be updated since the xlib6g* packages will disappear by the
time of the next release.

Be aware that, in addition to xlibs-dev, you may also need to specify
libxaw7-dev. Also, if your source package uses imake, you will need
to specify xutils as well.

Given that none of the source files needed the Xmu headers, you could
probably just remove -lXmu from the link line.

2008-06-08 Thread Daniel Schepler

This is due to the following change in xutils 1:7.3+11:

  * Remove the dependency of xutils against xutils-dev, it was only useful
for transitional purpose in Etch, closes: #418123.

The current plan is to reintroduce the dependency for the lenny release,
then restore this change soon afterwards. At that point, this bug will
become RC.

So looking into the debhelper code a bit, it's just being lazy and printing
the return value of "system", which is the exit code shifted left by 8 (or
the signal number it died on, |128 if it core dumped, etc) -- so the exit
code is actually 9. You can file a wishlist bug against debhelper if you
want, but that's really beside the point here -- which is the invalid control
file syntax causing problems with recent versions of dpkg.

I do see in #890459 that you're planning to remove the package soon
anyway. I just wanted to post this so you could decide whether you
need to do an interim upload to fix this issue before the removal
happens.

Bug#190494: netspades: FTBFS: Missing Build-Depends

The source package needs at least debhelper in its Build-Depends; and
judging from the packages built, it probably needs libgtk1.2-dev and
slang1-dev as well.

Bug#190617: Upcoming NMU's for missing Build-Depends

2003-08-18 Thread Daniel Schepler
I've been making a series of NMU's to add Build-Depends to the last
few packages that still need them. Since somebody pointed out to me
that it would be a good idea to give forewarning, both for the
maintainers' sake and to save me work if the maintainer decides to do
an upload finally (or request removal of an obsolete package), I'm
doing that now. I hope to start on this list Monday evening and get
through it by the end of the week.

(Since there were so many bugs being mailed here, I might have made a
mistake with one or more of them. If so, I apologize, and I'd
appreciate it if you could let me know so I can resend it to the
correct bug address.)

In bug #190619, "tony mancill <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>" said he'd request
removal. I guess he never got around to it, though.

The catalog source package has a Build-Depends on
"libmime-base64-perl(>=2.11)". Since that's been absorbed into the

dependency using unstable.

The problem now is that there isn't any libxaw-dev virtual package at
all any more. I retitled the bugs also, to reflect this fact.
