This is a life sign from upstream :) Fixed the spelling in CVS, for afr-eng as well. Also shortened the description in the gencontrol.py used in the package build process. I'm working on a rerelease, but will need a sponsor or better a new maintainer. Till then any packaging changes will remain on my harddisk. Hi, I'm freedict upstream. Thanks for your report. Even though your introductory question looks like a rhetoric question, since I don't know the languages Gaelic or Scottish, I have to ask you to please answer your question :) Since it has only 300 headwords, I will put a note into the dictionary file. The .deb descriptions are generated automatically. That proces would have to be adapted to include the important notes from the dictionary file. To be able to make packages that build from source - that would be the TEI files or even their sources - it will be required to package the "FreeDict tools", eg. as "freedict-dev", which will have to be listed as "Build-Depends". The c5 formatting way is working, but the entry formatting still needs some improvement. After releasing the dictd c5 formatted databases, I can join the efforts to update the Debian packages. Hope this is a viable way to answer. I'm kind of the becoming FreeDict maintainer. The Debian package maintainer position seems still vacant to me :) * 00-database-utf8 This should be added, as long as the source language requires it. * sources They should be there. We will put the CVS files into source.bz at sourceforge. Whether there will be debian source packages, depends on a debian package maitainer coming forward. * "iconv -f utf8 -t iso-8859-1" says "illegal input sequence" iconv gives this error, because the phonetics characters are not allowed in the _iso-8859-1_. I have successfully opened my CVS version of eng-ger.tei with yudit, seeing those characters iconv complained about. Also XML validation was successful.
