Emacs != GNU Emacs. Tramp is also for XEmacs.

Furthermore, the update of Tramp is stalled in Debian. Still Tramp 2.0
is offered, although Tramp 2.1 is the stable release now.

Both Tramp versions 2.0.56 and 2.1.10 fix this problem. Debian shall
uprade to one of these versions. Note that 2.1.10 is regarded as stable
now.

The stable Tramp version stream is now 2.1. Emacs 22 contains Tramp
2.0.56. Wouldn't it be an option to upgrade the mainstream Tramp version
in Debian also to 2.1?
