At the point release we can choose to either remove the package or fix the package (small targeted diff). Do you think the latter is not possible and we should just remove it at that point? Bug#524566: Non-DFSG files distributed in fluidsynth package
David Henningsson wrote: Hello Release team, while working on adopting my first package (fluidsynth), non-DFSG files were discovered in all releases of fluidsynth, both unstable, testing, stable and oldstable. (bug: #524566) The non-DFSG files is a soundfont and some documentation, and is only included in the upstream tarball, so no binary packages are affected. I could use some advice on how to proceed, and possibly some assistance as well. I would propose to fix it first in unstable (by repacking upstream tarball by removing the files an recreating the tarball and using another upstream version in debian/changelog like adding .dfsg.1). If that worked out ok, feel free to do similar things for the version in stable and oldstable. Package: tripwire Version: 2.3.1.2.0-4 Submitter: Jorge Redondo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Original Message Subject:Bug in Tripwire Date: Wed, 15 Feb 2006 11:47:32 +0100 From: Jorge Redondo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Reply-To: Jorge Redondo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello Mr. Claes I'm a Tripwire 2.3.1.2.0-4 user on a i386 Debian Sarge machine and I think I've found a bug in this program. I run tripwire from cron (cron.daily) and, in this case, the root directory (atime and ctime) is changed while tripwire is running (but if you run tripwire from console in root session, the root directory doesn't change). So you always receives an error report with these changes. I searched for this error in the documentation and on Internet, but I only found some people who had the same error, but no resolv for it. In the documentation I read that the option "TEMPDIRECTORY" in twcfg.txt file is used to set an alternative temp directory for tripwire different from /tmp which is the default value for this option. I tried to put this option into twcfg.txt and set it with "/tmp" value: TEMPDIRECTORY =/tmp Theorily, this works the same like do not to put anything because it's the default value. Well, when I put this option, tripwire doesn't change the root directory never more. I hope this would be an improve for the program, won't it? If you need more information, please, ask me for it.
