Bug#121240: Debian Bug report logs - #121240 xgdvi: Fonts broken on a random default installation

2007-01-18 Thread Lior Kaplan
The file you mentioned is a part of the dvilib2 package.

Could you send me in output of
dpkg -l dvilib2 xgdvi
and
dpkg -L dvilib2 xgdvi

(notice that the first command has small L and the second one has large L).

Thanks.

Bug#407505: xgdvi: please add versioned dependency on dvilib2

2007-01-19 Thread Lior Kaplan
Package: xgdvi
Version: 1.2.4-6

While checking bug #121240, the user upgraded xgdvi without upgrading
dvilib2, which caused problems (details bellow).

Adding a versioned dependency will solve this problem.

 Original Message

hmmm, I zgrep-ed for it in Contents-i386.gz; I guess my copy of the
Contents file was too old.

Version 1.2.4-4.2 of dvilib2 is installed. dpkg -L shows:

/.
/usr
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/libdvilib2.so.13.0.0
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/dvilib2
/usr/share/doc/dvilib2/00_PRODUCTS
/usr/share/doc/dvilib2/changelog.gz
/usr/share/doc/dvilib2/copyright
/usr/share/doc/dvilib2/00_README.gz
/usr/share/doc/dvilib2/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/lib/libdvilib2.so.13

perhaps you need a versioned dependency?

Anyway, with dvilib2 upgraded, xgdvi runs again.

Unfortunately, the display bug is still present!

Bug#427198: #427198 tex-guy - FTBFS: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldvilib2

2007-06-07 Thread Lior Kaplan

Hi Hirotsugu,

tex-guy is reported [0] to fail to build from sources (FTBFS in short).
From the log file [1] it seems the reason is /usr/lib/libkpathsea.la:

grep: /usr/lib/libkpathsea.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libkpathsea.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libkpathsea.la' is not a valid libtool archive
make[2]: *** [libdvilib2.la] Error 1

I found that libkpathsea4-dev have dropped [2] the file, and only
provide /usr/lib/libkpathsea.a

So:
1. I that OK for tex-guy?
2. Can you send me a patch to work around this issue?

Thanks.

Bug#427198: binNMU for vflib3 due to #426006

2007-06-16 Thread Lior Kaplan

Hi,

As libkpathsea-dev dropped the .la file (see #426006), it will cause
other packages to create a different .la files them selves. Example from

Scheduled.

Great. Thanks.

Are there other libraries that need to be rebuilt in response to this
kpathsea change?

These are the source packages which build-depend on libkpathsea-dev:

$ grep -h -B 6 libkpathsea-dev /var/lib/apt/lists/*_source_Sources |
grep Package | awk '{print $2}'

bibtool
catdvi
dvi2dvi
dvi2ps
dvipdfmx
dvipng
dvipsk-ja
evince
lcdf-typetools
mendexk
ptex-bin
pyx
tex4ht
texfam
texlive-bin
tkdvi
tmview
vflib3
xdvik-ja

I'm not sure if this change affects them, but it probably does since
this changes between dynamic and static linking.

Maybe a confusion between source and binary package names?

$ dpkg -S /usr/lib/libVFlib3.la
vflib3-dev: /usr/lib/libVFlib3.la

Might be a good idea to check other packages again... (If I was sure
how, I would have done that myself).
