Bug#740211: [elilo] Script broken when elilo is removed but not purged

2014-02-26 Thread Giovanni Mascellani
Package: elilo
Version: 3.14-3
Severity: normal

Hi.

The script in [1] directly calls "elilo" without checking whether it
exists and it is executable. This makes the script fail when elilo is
removed, but not purged (in turn, this makes the initramfs-tools dpkg
trigger fail).

 [1] /etc/initramfs/post-update.d/elilo

Purging package elilo fixes the problem, but it is not an evident
solutions for people that are not expert of how Debian packages work.

Cheers, Giovanni.

Bug#478762: Bug#543907: Netbeans 6.9 and Dependencies Ready for Upload

Thanks for working on netbeans.

Some time ago I packaged a small part of netbeans (particularly,
org-openide-util-lookup) into the package openide-util, because a needed
it as dependency of the package freehep-util.

This library is now contained into libnb-platform12-java, so I'd like to
drop my copy. Thus, I ask you these two things:

 1) Could you please add a pom.xml file for openide-util-platform, so I
can use it with maven (that freehep-util uses to build itself)?

 2) Installing libnb-platform12-java requires about 20 MB of
dependencies which are not necessary for just using openide-util-lookup.
How difficult would it be to split the package in smaller library
packages, so one can install them more selectively?

Thanks, Giovanni.

Bug#442866: gnump3d-index dies with Perl error

2007-09-17 Thread Giovanni Mascellani
Package: gnump3d
Version: 2.9.9.9final
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Running gnump3d-index I obtain this errors:

# gnump3d-index --debug

.) at /usr/share/perl/5.8/utf8_heavy.pl line 80, <$fh> line 1.

I can't program in Perl, so I don't know the meaning of these errors,
but I can recognize that the gnump3d index is not build correctly! At
the end of the process /var/cache/gnump3d/song.tags contain many of my
music files, but not all of them. Both in tags and file names there are
UTF-8 characters, but in song.tags there are many entries correctly
stored with such characters.

If you need some additions information, feel free to ask me! I like
very much gnump3d and would be glad to help debugging it!

Giovanni.

Bug#948119: [schroot] does not work for non-root user

2020-01-04 Thread Giovanni Mascellani
Package: schroot
Version: 1.6.10-7
Severity: important

Hi,

with today's update (1.6.10-7), schroot does not work anymore for
non-root users (which are still authorized by mean of the "users"
directive):

> $ schroot -c sid
> E: sid-e3acbcde-86df-4f46-a30a-8bbb72d1620e: Failed to lock chroot:
> /var/lib/schroot/session/sid-e3acbcde-86df-4f46-a30a-8bbb72d1620e: Failed to
> write session file: Permesso negato

I suspect the problem might be related to the fact that /usr/bin/schroot
is not set-uid anymore, while it was before. Executing

 # chmod u+s /usr/bin/schroot

fixes the problem for me.

Thanks, Giovanni.
