Bug#1050607: xcb: bookworm xcb won't paste from selected cut buffer

2023-09-30 Thread Dennis Filder
X-Debbugs-CC: Phil Chadwick
Control: tag -1 moreinfo

I cannot reproduce this with 2.4-7 under xorg: xcb behaves as
expected.

You state that you use the "standard bookworm Gnome desktop" which
should be using Wayland. Are you under Wayland? Because if so then I
suspect the behaviour you observed might be due to Xwayland probably
not implementing Cut Buffers correctly (or at all) -- which would be
unsurprising as they have been a rather obscure/obsolete feature of X
for quite some time. In that case it would be prudent to look for an
alternative clipboard because I have my doubts that the Xwayland
people would add this feature if one were to ask them to.

If you want to debug this further you should paste the output of

  xprop -root | grep CUT_BUFFER

For me its:

  CUT_BUFFER0(UTF8_STRING) = "foo"
  CUT_BUFFER1(UTF8_STRING) = "bar"
  CUT_BUFFER2(STRING) =
  CUT_BUFFER3(STRING) =
  CUT_BUFFER4(STRING) =
  CUT_BUFFER5(STRING) =
  CUT_BUFFER6(STRING) =
  CUT_BUFFER7(STRING) =

Solar Collecter/Solar Rejecter Window Insulators (Interior Mounted) -
University and Laboratory Tested
A 4' X 4' In'Flector window insulator can produce as much heat as a 600 watt
electrical heater per sunlight hour and reflect up to 72% of the room heat back
into the room! During the summer, our product also reduces air infiltration up
to 71%, stops solar heat gain up to 65%, and blocks up to 90% of harmful UV
rays for such customers as General Motors and numerous Canadian Embassies! We
would like you to consider offering your customers truly energy efficient
window insulators, roller blinds, vertical blinds, or sliders. At the same
time, we would like you to be a supplier, distributor or manufacturer by adding
another product line for your customers to consider! We have been tested by
two major universities and two independent laboratories with outstanding

Bug#161672: dstooltk-doc: Docu saved to /usr/share/doc instead of /usr/share

2002-09-20 Thread Dennis Stampfer
Package: dstooltk-doc
Version: N/A; reported 2002-09-20
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 13.3

Hi,

dstooltk-doc's documentation is saved in /usr/share/doc/dstooltk-doc
instead of /usr/share/dstooltk-doc:

13.3 Additional documentation
... Files in /usr/share/doc should not be referenced by any program,
and the system administrator should be able to delete them without
causing any programs to break. Any files that are referenced by
programs but are also useful as standalone documentation should be
installed under /usr/share/package/ with symbolic links from
/usr/share/doc/package/.

Please change serverity if I am wrong.

Bug#135445: kinkatta: Please add more information to the extended description

2002-09-28 Thread Dennis Stampfer
Hey there!

Christian Kurz <[EMAIL PROTECTED] and I discussed about that feature list.
We dropped:
 o Support for smiles
 o "/me"-Support (like in IRC)
 o Auto away. Away-Message-Template supports %n, %d and %t
We think that these features can't persuade a user of kinkatta. These
are just extra features and aren't very important to us.

 o Fully configurable sound
If we would list this, we have to do the same with "Text Window",
"Network", "Messages", ... (there may be much configured). So we should
write "Fully configurable AIM Client" instead.

We added:
 o Fully configurable AIM Client
   see above: "Fully configurable sound"

We changed:
o Support for printing from the chat window
to "Direct printing from the chat window"
because it may be missunderstood: Something will be sent to printer, not
   printed out to screen.

Here is the complete control entry:

Bug#127774: bug: patch for #127774 and #86360

2002-10-21 Thread Dennis Stampfer
Package: bug
Version: N/A; reported 2002-10-21

Hi there!

I wrote a patch to fix/add wishlist items of #127774. I added -a
to query archived bugs. If -a is set, I add a "&archive=yes" to the
URL. For details please see the diff.

Between Bug #127774 and #86360 ist no big difference. So I wrote the
patch for both bugs (one patch to fix #127774 and #86360).

Therefore I added a -c option which clears $DISPLAY. And if $DISPLAY is
not set, bugview uses the console browser.

I also added the section OPTIONS to the manpage with these two options.

I hope it's okay!

  Dennis

Bug#190031: Acknowledgement (bnetd) (fwd)

2003-04-21 Thread Clark, Dennis
Title: RE: Bug#190031: Acknowledgement (bnetd) (fwd)

The BTS probably still has the QA group as the maintainer because I only officially became maintainer about 18 hours ago (that's when I uploaded the package :-)

Thank you for the bug report, and for letting me know about it. I do know about PvPGN, and intend to package it once I become more familiar with it. My main reason for adopting bnetd is so that it won't be deleted from the Debian archives (it was on the list of orphaned packages scheduled to be deleted). Once pvpgn is packaged, I will make a dummy bnetd upgrade which will depend on pvpgn, enabling a (hopefully) smooth upgrade for bnetd users.

Oh, and I'm almost certain pvpgn doesn't help a bit with bug #134984, as pvpgn has the all the functionality of bnetd, and it's the functionality that Blizzard is concerned about. In fact the only thing that I can think of that will close bug #134984 is the US Supreme court repealling the DMCA :-).

Cheers,

I submitted a new bug and it went to the qa group. I notice you intend to
be the new maintainer. I'm unsure why my bug went to the qa group and not
you, I'm also unsure as to why http://packages.qa.debian.org/b/bnetd.html
lists the qa group as being the Maintainer.
