Bug#1084506: suck: FTBFS: dh: error: unable to load addon quilt

2024-10-07 Thread Santiago Vila

Dear maintainer:

During a rebuild of all packages in unstable, your package failed to build:

make: *** [debian/rules:4: clean] Error 25

The above is just how the build ends and not necessarily the most relevant part.
If required, the full build log is available here:

https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/build-logs/202410/

About the archive rebuild: The build was made on virtual machines from AWS,
using sbuild and a reduced chroot with only build-essential packages.

If you could not reproduce the bug please contact me privately, as I
am willing to provide ssh access to a virtual machine where the bug is
fully reproducible.

If this is really a bug in one of the build-depends, please use
reassign and affects, so that this is still visible in the BTS web
page for this package.

Thanks.

Bug#1084741: RM: quelcom -- RoQA; ftbfs, orphaned, upstream vanished

2024-10-07 Thread Chris Hofstaedtler
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: ftp.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: remove
X-Debbugs-Cc: quel...@packages.debian.org

Please remove quelcom from unstable. It is orphaned since 2019, ftbfs
with gcc-14 and upstream is nowhere to be found.

Thanks,
Chris

Bug#1084751: RM: hugs -- RoQA; orphaned, obsolete, ftbfs

2024-10-07 Thread Chris Hofstaedtler
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: ftp.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: remove
X-Debbugs-Cc: hug...@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:hugs98

hugs98 is a historic Haskell98 implementation in Haskell. From what
I remember, people moved on from Haskell98.

Anyway, upstream has stopped development a long time ago, the
package is orphaned in Debian since 2018, currently FTBFS and
nothing depends on it.

Please remove hugs98 from unstable.

Chris

If required, the full build log is available here:

About the archive rebuild: The build was made on virtual machines from AWS,
using sbuild and a reduced chroot with only build-essential packages.

If you could not reproduce the bug please contact me privately, as I
am willing to provide ssh access to a virtual machine where the bug is
fully reproducible.

If this is really a bug in one of the build-depends, please use
reassign and affects, so that this is still visible in the BTS web
page for this package.

Bug#1084475: fosfat: move from fuse to fuse3

2024-10-07 Thread zeha

Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

your package currently (Build-)Depends on fuse - that is fuse 2.x, it
being obsolete. A newer version of fuse, fuse3, is available since at
least buster.

Please migrate your package to the fuse3 library, which is actively
maintained. It would be great if we could remove fuse 2.x in the
forky development cycle.

If you cannot migrate yet, please at least update your Depends: line.
If you currently have:

> Depends: fuse

please update that to:

> Depends: fuse3 (>= 3.10.1-3) | fuse (<< 3)

This allows mount.fuse and fusermount to be provided by fuse3, which
is what the majority of new installs already have [1]. You should
still migrate from libfuse 2.x to libfuse 3.x later.

[This bug is targeted to the upcoming trixie release]

Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it
was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please
file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this
package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in
a follow-up test rebuild.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-14/g++-14, but succeeds to build with gcc-13/g++-13. The
severity of this report will be raised before the trixie release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://qa-logs.debian.net/2024/07/01/file-kanji_1.1-21_unstable_gccexp.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 14, either set CC=gcc-14 CXX=g++-14 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t=experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with
-Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files.
For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-14/porting_to.html

Dear Maintainer,

A vulnerability identified as CVE-2018-21027 was discovered and fixed in Boa
project with the following commit:
https://github.com/gpg/boa/pull/1/commits/e139b87835994d007fbd64eead6c1455d7b8cf4e.
Which amended the "scandir" function located in extras/scandir.c file.
Lifeline project contains an identical "scandir" function in the
src/arch/scandir.c file, which has not been fixed.
Is is not fixed in version 3.0.62 either.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'bookworm'.
It installed fine in 'bookworm', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails.

This test intentionally skipped 'testing' to find problems before packages
migrate from 'unstable' to 'testing'.

>From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  Setting up scanbd (1.5.1-7) ...
  mv: not replacing '/etc/scanbd/dll.conf'

exit status 1

Andreas

Bug#1084742: RM: ap-utils -- RoQA; orphaned, ftbfs, outdated hardware required

2024-10-07 Thread Chris Hofstaedtler
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: ftp.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: remove
X-Debbugs-Cc: ap-ut...@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:ap-utils

Ben orphaned this package in 2013 (!), stating it is used with very old
hardware. Given 11 years have passed since then, and it now FTBFS,
please remove it from unstable.

Thanks,
Chris

Bug#1084743: RM: smb2www -- RoQA; orphaned, ftbfs, upstream vanished

Hi,

smb2www last upstream release was in 1998, the last maintainer upload
was in 2013, and they orphaned it in 2018. It currently FTBFS.

Please remove smb2www from unstable.

Bug#1084749: RM: xvier -- RoQA; ftbfs, orphaned, no upstream

2024-10-07 Thread Chris Hofstaedtler
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: ftp.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: remove
X-Debbugs-Cc: xv...@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:xvier

xvier's last Maintainer upload was in 2003 (no kidding), and now FTBFS.
Given it's a really old X11 game with no active upstream, maybe we can
stop wasting our time on it.

Please remove xvier from unstable.

Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

giggle uses obsolete GTK+ and related libs, its upstream has archived
it, last maintainer upload was in 2015 and orphaned it in 2017. It
currently FTBFS.

Please remove giggle from unstable.

geotranz fails to build with OpenJDK 21 because it invokes javac with
the source/target options set to 7. Since OpenJDK 20 the minimum version
supported is 8.
