Dear maintainer,

This package is among the few (1.9%) that still use source format 1.0 in
bookworm. Please upgrade it to source format 3.0, as (1) this format has many
advantages, as documented in https://wiki.debian.org/Projects/DebSrc3.0 ; (2)
this contributes to standardization of packaging practices.

Please note that this is also a sign that the packaging of this software
could maybe benefit from a refresh. It might be a good opportunity to
look at other aspects as well.

This mass bug filing was discussed on debian-devel@:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2022/03/msg00074.html

Thanks

Lucas

The build path is embedded in ./usr/lib/libYgl.so.4.2:

https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/unstable/amd64/diffoscope-results/ygl.html

  /build/1st/ygl-4.2e/ygl.c:525
  vs.
  /build/2/ygl-4.2e/2nd/ygl.c:525

The attached patch fixes this by passing a variable to dh_auto_build in
debian/rules with the -ffile-prefix-map compiler flag to avoid embedding
the build path.

With this patch applied, ygl should build reproducibly on
tests.reproducible-builds.org!

Use the PROJECT_DEFINES variable to pass -ffile-prefix-map to avoid

Package: dpatch
Version: 2.0.14
Severity: wishlist

Especially given the dpatch-edit-patch -b flag, dpatch-convert-diffgz
should not be limited to running with dpkg-buildpackage. Some obvious
alternatives would be:

 a) process an existing .diff.gz (probably good even if b is done as well)
 b) allow the build command to be customized (svn-buildpackage, &cetera)

I have a package, eximdoc4, whose orig.tar.gz contains two .tar.bz2
tarballs which need to be unpacked before patches are applied.

In debian/rules, the patch target depends on a unpack target which
unpacks the two tarballs.

Is there any possibility to have dpep call this unpack target before
making the working copy?

Greetings

Bug#1010626: Removed package(s) from unstable

2022-08-15 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

dpatch | 2.0.42 | source, all

--- Reason ---
RoQA; obsolete
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 1010...@bugs.debian.org.

Bug#101700: 1: ${python3:Depends} not expanded in Recommends line

Control: tag -1 - unreproducible

Hi Marc (2022.08.15_19:29:46_+)
> Now I know. The package in question is not python3-gensio, it's
> gensio-bin.

Aha, you are hitting this bit of logic:

https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/tools/dh-python/-/blob/0895a390c27c8d7a4b1150aeca79505a9784a3f5/dhpython/debhelper.py#L161

It only processes packages that look like they are named like a python
module, or depend on ${python3:Depends}.
Yeah, I can extend that to look at recommends.
