Dear Maintainer,

When I try to read the QR code with the 'Decode from Webcam' button on Qtqr

It would be nice if it would display an error and not crash.

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from

It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a

Bug#961457: idle3-tools: autopkgtest regression: idle3ctl: command not found

2020-05-25 Thread Leandro Ramos
Hi, Paul. I solved the bug, but I am solving the messages from lintian
too and I will ask the sponsor to send the package in one week.
The delay is due to the fact that it is a "packaging sprint" organized
by the Debian Brazil team, which is helping me to learn about packaging.

Thank you very much :)

Leandro Ramos.

Dear maintainer(s),

With a recent upload of idle3-tools the autopkgtest of idle3-tools fails
in testing when that autopkgtest is run with the binary packages of
idle3-tools from unstable. It passes when run with only packages from
testing. In tabular form:

passfail

all others from testingfrom testing

I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. It seems that
either you need the needs-root restriction or need to provide the full
path to /usr/sbin/idle3ctl. Without needs-root, the test is run as a
regular user. Please also mark this test as superficial.

Currently this regression is blocking the migration to testing [1]. Can
you please investigate the situation and fix it?

Bug#961538: /usr/lib/sm.bin/sendmail: IPv6 reverse-then-forward lookup broken, possibly by glibc-2.30.patch

2020-05-25 Thread Matthias Ferdinand
Package: sendmail-bin
Version: 8.15.2-18
Severity: important
File: /usr/lib/sm.bin/sendmail

[ same as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sendmail/+bug/1879738 ]

Dear Maintainer,

since USE_INET6 has been removed in glibc-2.30, sendmail fails to verify
IPv6 client addresses (reverse-then-forward-lookup) and refuses to
accept incoming mail:

May 20 16:42:50 mx sm-mta[161617]: ruleset=check_relay,
arg1=[IPv6:2a04:6c0:0:0:0:0:bad:0], arg2=IPv6:2a04:6c0:0:0:0:0:bad:0,
relay=hektik.14v.de [IPv6:2a04:6c0:0:0:0:0:bad:0] (may be forged), reject=451
4.1.8 Possibly forged hostname for IPv6:2a04:6c0:0:0:0:0:bad:0

It seems the patch "glibc-2.30.patch" only fixed the FTBS problem, but
does not provide any alternative method for IPv6 reverse lookups.

I checked with tcpdump and the forward-part of a
reverse-then-forward-lookup always asks for an "A" record instead of
"".

There is already some #ifdef in conf.c, function sm_getipnodebyname()
for gethostbyname2().

If I add
  #define HAS_GETHOSTBYNAME2 1
before that, reverse-then-forward lookups for IPv6 do work again as
expected.

Please find the attached patch sendmail-ipv6-gethostbyname2.patch. It
modifies configure.ac, so that it checks availability of
gethostbyname2() and adds -DHAS_GETHOSTBYNNAME2=1 to sm_envdef when
found.

Matthias Ferdinand

The original justification for depending upon procmail was to get support
for the traditional e-mail in a single file, instead of maildir. An
awful lot of mailers include support for maildir, but I do see the
justification.

Problem is, there are *many* other programs which can handle the same
job. If you're going to keep it as an absolute dependancy, some of the
alternatives need to be added.

Of note, "mailutils" can do exactly the same job procmail can.

While you're at it, fixing #741153 would also be rather handy. IPv6 is
starting to get real critical mass.

Dear Maintainer,

While working on the "reproducible builds" effort [1], we have noticed

The attached patch fixes those issues.

Dear Maintainer,

I could not install ucspi-tcp-ipv6 with qmail-run installed, because
ucspi-tcp-ipv6 conflicts with ucspi-tcp and provides ucspi-tcp.
However, qmail-run depends on an explicit version of ucspi-tcp,
and virtual packages cannot yet have versions.

Of course, Debian's qmail is not IPv6 patched AFAIK, but it need not
impede the installation of ucspi-tcp-ipv6, which can be used by other
programs as well.

I was able to resolve the problem locally by removing the version
requirement from qmail-run and rebuilding, like so:

Hi,

While working on the "reproducible builds" effort [1], we have noticed
that qmail-run could not be built reproducibly.

The attached patch removes timestamps from the build system. Once
applied, qmail-run can be built reproducibly in our current experimental
framework.

Bug#961315: Removed package(s) from unstable

2020-05-25 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

 qmail-run | 2.0.3 | source, all

--- Reason ---
RoQA; Orphaned, depends on qmail which should be removed
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 961...@bugs.debian.org.

The full log for this bug can be viewed at https://bugs.debian.org/961315
