The link that you provided in your initial bug report results in a "403 Forbidden". xpdf 3.04-6 contains a fix that should allow poppler to find cMap and related files, and I would expect that the Syntax Error messages that you quote are not longer present. Whatever the font rendering issue that you talk about is, it is probably a different issue? Florian
