Package: imms
Version: 2.0.3-2
Severity: normal

Hello,

Here are the steps to reproduce the core dump:
- install imms
- do NOT enable imms in xmms
- run "immstool help"

$ LANG=C immstool help
Abandon (core dumped)

Here is a part of the strace:

$ strace immstool help
execve("/usr/bin/immstool", ["immstool", "help"], [/* 32 vars */]) = 0
uname({sys="Linux", node="pcfb", ...}) = 0

[...]

access("/home/fred/.imms/imms.db", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open("/home/fred/.imms/imms2.db", O_RDWR|O_CREAT|O_LARGEFILE, 0644) = -1 ENOENT
(No such file or directory)
open("/home/fred/.imms/imms2.db", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = -1 ENOENT (No such
file or directory)
futex(0xb7d354b4, FUTEX_WAKE, 2147483647) = 0
futex(0xb7c70dc4, FUTEX_WAKE, 2147483647) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_UNBLOCK, [ABRT], NULL, 8) = 0
tgkill(24723, 24723, SIGABRT) = 0
--- SIGABRT (Aborted) @ 0 (0) ---
+++ killed by SIGABRT (core dumped) +++

The directory /home/fred/.imms/ and the file /home/fred/.imms/imms2.db
don't exist yet.

After enabling imms in xmms, the command works.

Another bug is that even after enabling imms, "immstool graph"
segfaults and dumps core on startup. If you want, I can fill a
separate bug report for this problem.

I have a song that keeps the rating 100 even though I skip it every time.
Here's some lines from .imms/imms.log:

-
[/x/audio/rip/Weird Al Yankovic - 1992 - Off The Deep End/12.Bite Me.ogg]
  [Rating: 100(0)] [Last: 4d9h] [After: 100(0)]
-

It doesn't say [Skipped] even though I did. The song is very short (8
seconds). Maybe that has something to do with it.

This conflict appears to be caused by one of the patches, which seemingly is
incomplete:

http://sources.debian.net/src/imms/3.1.0~svn301-3/debian/patches/audacious-3.x.patch?hl=53#L53

This patch modifies the return type of init in clients/audacious, but does not
do anything about the alternative definitions of init, such as the one in
clients/bmp.

(Whether that duplicate public definition of init is desired at all is a
different story and might be worth a review.)

Best,
Michael

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 874...@bugs.debian.org.

The full log for this bug can be viewed at https://bugs.debian.org/874252

This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is
a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing

Enhancement: Soft link /bin/pdksh to /bin/ksh88

2017-09-06 Thread Andrew Pennebaker
For administrators managing old "ksh88" scripts, it sure would be helpful
if the pdksh package setup a soft link from /bin/pdksh to /bin/ksh88, in
order to be able to run these scripts unmodified. (pdksh is a clone of
ksh88.)

Andrew
