Hello!

The package currently has the following line:

  Suggests: postgresql | mysql-server

It should be changed to

  Suggests: postgresql | mysql-server | virtual-mysql-server

..as announced by James Page in Misc Developer News #37
(https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2014/11/msg00015.html).

Alternatively, if you prefer MariaDB, then the line could say:

  Suggests: postgresql | mariadb-server | virtual-mysql-server

Package: anon-proxy

I have been having a problem for the last few days on my machine.
Sources I can reach normally using, eg, a web browser, appeared to
be inaccessible to aptitude, apt-get, and apt.

Also, reportbug just aborted when "checking for newer versions at
madison", for the same reason.

I figured it out eventually. The issue is that the http_proxy
environment variable was set when I opted to do private browsing
via anon-proxy, and the proxy at 127.0.0.1:4001 triggers a bug in the
attempted URL rewriting done by these programs such that they cannot
present a meaningful URL to the proxy to be rewritten.

Switching to FTP protocol turned out to be a decent workaround as FTP
is not proxied; however security.debian.org does not appear to be
accessible via ftp.

So, to fix this problem: please have these programs present complete
URLs that can be handled properly by anon-proxy, or fix the anon-proxy
package to be compatible with the widely shared bug.

Also, ftp access to security.debian.org is a resolution devoutly
to be wished. While not technically a bug, I want to register it
as a wishlist item in that that particular source should be as
accessible as possible by as many means as possible IMO.

Dear maintainers,

I've noticed that anon-proxy embeds a copy of libtrio's source files; the build
system
should ensure that libtrio-dev's header files are used and that anon-proxy is
linked
against the system version of libtrio.

ok, thanks, for now just filing a bug to prevent it from reaching testing.

If this situation doesn't change it's probably proper to file an RM bug
to get the package removed from unstable too.

Hi,

OpenSSL 1.1.0 is about to released. During a rebuild of all packages using
OpenSSL this package fail to build. A log of that build can be found at:
https://breakpoint.cc/openssl-1.1-rebuild-2016-05-29/Attempted/anon-proxy_00.05.38+20081230-3_amd64-20160529-1404

On https://wiki.openssl.org/index.php/1.1_API_Changes you can see various of the
reasons why it might fail. There are also updated man pages at
https://www.openssl.org/docs/manmaster/ that should contain useful information.

There is a libssl-dev package available in experimental that contains a recent
snapshot, I suggest you try building against that to see if everything works.

If you have problems making things work, feel free to contact us.

Package: anon-proxy
Version: 00.02.29-1

anon-proxy doesn't work on debian/ppc. it does start, but it seems that the
connection to the mix gets closed soon after it is established. (after about 1
minute anon-proxy tries to reconnect and the connection gets closed again,
etc.)

anon-proxy doesn't start listening on the local port, so i guess that the
problem occurs before the initialization of the connection to the mix is
finished.

i have attached some (hopefully) useful debugging output below. (the same
version works fine on x86 btw.)

Bug#843821: Removed package(s) from unstable

2016-11-10 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

anon-proxy | 00.05.38+20081230-4 | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf,
hurd-i386, i386, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mips64el, mipsel,
powerpc, ppc64el, s390x

--- Reason ---
RoQA; orphaned, dead upstream
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 843...@bugs.debian.org.

The full log for this bug can be viewed at https://bugs.debian.org/843821

Control:
merge 472001 -1

Hello

works for me

$ tsocks wget -q -O - icanhazip.com
XXX.XXX.95.55

$ wget -q -O - icanhazip.com
XXX.XXX.43.177

$ grep ^server /etc/tsocks.conf
server = localhost
server_type = 5
server_port = 1081

I'm using tsocks 1.8beta5+ds1-1 but that particular patch hasn't changed

if you confirm it works for you, i'll proceed to close this bug

thanks!
