Bug#839305: docbook-xsl: FTBFS: dh_installxmlcatalogs: Unexpected debhelper version format

Justification: FTBFS on amd64

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

Relevant part (hopefully):
> fakeroot debian/rules binary
> dh binary --parallel
>dh_testroot
>dh_prep
>dh_installdirs
>dh_auto_install
>debian/rules override_dh_install
> make[1]: Entering directory '/<>/docbook-xsl-1.79.1+dfsg'

> dh_installxmlcatalogs: Unexpected debhelper version format
> debian/rules:17: recipe for target 'override_dh_install' failed
> make[1]: *** [override_dh_install] Error 255

If the failure looks somehow time/timezone related:
Note that this rebuild was performed without the 'tzdata' package
installed in the chroot. tzdata used be (transitively) part of
build-essential, but it no longer is. If this package requires it to
build, it should be added to build-depends. For the release team's
opinion on this, see
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=836940#185

The full build log is available from:
   http://aws-logs.debian.net/2016/09/30/docbook-xsl_1.79.1+dfsg-2_unstable.log

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from
Amazon Web Services, using a clean, minimal and up-to-date chroot. Every
failed build was retried once to eliminate random failures.

Hello. This was a bug in xml-core, the package containing
dh_installxmlcatalogs, which get confused about debhelper version "10"
not containing any dot.

It was fixed just yesterday, so autobuilders should really try again.

I'm going to do the usual tidy up (reassign + affects).

Thanks.

Version: 1.1.5-2
Severity: serious

Justification: FTBFS on amd64

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

Relevant part (hopefully):
> make[1]: Entering directory '/<>'
> pod2man --section=1 --release= debian/uniconvertor.pod > uniconvertor.1
> Option release requires an argument
> debian/rules:11: recipe for target 'override_dh_installman' failed
> make[1]: *** [override_dh_installman] Error 1

If the failure looks somehow time/timezone related:
Note that this rebuild was performed without the 'tzdata' package
installed in the chroot. tzdata used be (transitively) part of
build-essential, but it no longer is. If this package requires it to
build, it should be added to build-depends. For the release team's
opinion on this, see
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=836940#185

The full build log is available from:

http://aws-logs.debian.net/2016/09/30/python-uniconvertor_1.1.5-2_unstable.log

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from
Amazon Web Services, using a clean, minimal and up-to-date chroot. Every
failed build was retried once to eliminate random failures.

Hi,

The package anon-proxy uses debhelper with a compat level of 4,
which is deprecated and scheduled for removal.

 * Please bump the debhelper compat at your earliest convenience.
   on the 15th of June.
   - Compat 9 is recommended
   - Compat 5 is the bare minimum
   - If the package has been relying on dh_install being lenient about
missing files, please see "MIGRATING TO COMPAT 5 OR LATER" in [1].

 * Compat level 4 will be removed on the first debhelper upload after
   the 15th of June.

Thanks,
~Niels

Hi!

While working on the "reproducible builds" effort [1], we have noticed
that fracplanet could not be built reproducibly.
It lists source and header files without considering the locale, which
causes e.g. a non-deterministic linking order.

The attached patch fixes this.

Regards,
 Reiner

Hi!

While working on Debian's “reproducible builds” effort [1], we have
noticed that zpaq doesn't build reproducibly.
It embeds the current date into the manpage.

The attached patch fixes this by using the last changelog date
as a timestamp that will be embedded.

Regards,
 Reiner

Dear Maintainer,

While working on the “reproducible builds” effort [1], we have noticed
that 'twitter-bootstrap' could not be built reproducibly [2].

When using the shell bash, echo does not expand "\n" in the copyright
string, leading to an unexpected result.
This can be fixed by using printf instead of echo, as illustrated by the
attached patch.

Once applied, twitter-bootstrap can be built reproducibly in our current
experimental framework.

Regards,
Alexis Bienvenüe.

Hi!

While working on the "reproducible builds" effort [1], we have noticed
that libnss-ldap could not be built reproducibly.
It embeds the build date and username into the version string.

The attached patch removes this to make the build reproducible.

Regards,
 Reiner
