Bug#798641: no local branch, several remotes, but they are all the same, so please just use one

2015-09-11 Thread Barak A. Pearlmutter
Package: pristine-tar
Version: 1.33
Severity: wishlist

When git-buildpackage is doing its thing in a repo with no pristine-tar
branch but with several remote pristine-tar branches, an internal
pristine-tar checkout gives the following error.

pristine-tar: There's no local pristine-tar branch. Several remote
pristine-tar branches exist.
Run "git branch --track pristine-tar " to create a local
pristine-tar branch
c37c6f8c5322217cc5041bde8bade11d45f45830 refs/remotes/github/pristine-tar
c37c6f8c5322217cc5041bde8bade11d45f45830 refs/remotes/origin/pristine-tar

If there were only one remote pristine-tar branch, it would just use
that and everything would be fine. I wish it would realize when there
are several but they all point to the same commit, as above, and just go
ahead and use it.

Bug#798663: gsm0710muxd: Illegal changelog date format

2015-09-11 Thread Chris Lamb
Package: gsm0710muxd
Version: 1.13-2
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 4.4
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs
Tags: patch

Hi,

The previous debian/changelog entry has a date of:

  Tue, 23 June 2009 10:08:51 +

However, Policy section 4.4 tells us that "month is one of: Jan, Feb,
Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec".

This is important in a practical sense since dpkg-dev 1.18.2, date
parsing is stricter and thus dpkg-parsechangelog, dpkg-genchanges (etc.)
fail to process the file, ending in a FTBFS when genchanges is called to
parse the file.

Simply s/June/Jun/ fixes this; patch attached for clarity.

Regards,

Bug#798713: arista: Useless − all it ever does is complain about ‘missing elements’

2015-09-11 Thread Axel
Package: arista
Version: 0.9.7-5
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

if you press ‘Help’, all you get is a referral to the Arista homepage, which in
turn only
says “The easiest way to convert your media.”

Whatever source, destination or ‘device’ preset (should that read ‘output file
format’
preset?) I choose, all the program ever does is open a window and say “Cannot
add
conversion to queue because of missing elements!”. If started in a
terminal, it also reports:

arista.presets [435]: INFO Attempting to install elements: faac, ffdeinterlace
arista.presets [451]: ERROR Installing elements not supported!

No explanation is offered as to what an ‘element’ might be or why it needs to be
installed. All the help menu item does is refer to the program's website, which
does not
contain the slightest hint towards documentation, instead offering the
statement mentioned
above, which obviously eliminates the need for any kind of documentation.

An easy way to a dead end, I should say.

Please add all required dependencies. Trying to install ‘gnome-codec-install’
only results
in:

No candidate version found for gnome-codec-install
