Adding libssl-dev to the build-dependencies makes the configure step
pass, but here's what I get during compilation:

libtool: compile: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../config
-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fno-strict-aliasing -D_GNU_SOURCE -pthread
-I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/glib-2.0/include
-g -O2 -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wformat
-Werror=format-security -O2 -g -Wall
-DAMANDATES_FILE=\"/var/lib/amanda/amandates\" -DIGNORE_TAR_ERRORS -MT
localcharset.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/localcharset.Tpo -c localcharset.c
-fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/localcharset.o
In file included from localcharset.c:28:0:
./stdio.h:456:20: error: 'gets' undeclared here (not in a function)
 _GL_WARN_ON_USE (gets, "gets is a security hole - use fgets instead");
^
Makefile:1318: recipe for target 'localcharset.lo' failed
make[5]: *** [localcharset.lo] Error 1

The commit for the above change removes a bunch of dependencies, but
I get this error even if I add all of them (excluding libssh2-1-dev,
which seems to bring a conflict around libgcrypt-dev virtual package).

This seems to be a problem with gnulib/stdio.in.h. Removing lines
140-145 fixes the error.

Cheers,
dam

Package: aqualung
Version: 0.9~beta8-2
Severity: normal

After launching `aqualung' without arguments, two windows appear. I
do not know what these windows contain because every time my window
manager (Ratpoison) attempts to resize them to the correct size for my
chosen window management policy (1600x1200px), aqualung attempts to
manually resize its windows directly to some other size.

I strongly suspect this is not the correct behaviour, and that desired
geometry should be REQUESTED of the window manager via MWM hints (and
suchlike), and the program should gracefully handle being allocated
resources other than those desired. Note that the current behaviour
effectively renders this application unusable in Ratpoison, and
probably other tiling window managers, too (wmi, wmii, dwm, ion2,
ion3, xmonad).

Aqualung doesn't appears in the "open with" list on right clik on a
audio file.

Moreover, the command "aqualung exemple.ogg" is not the best one for
common use as it pops another aqualung instance.

I prefer "aqualung -N 0 -L -E exemple.ogg" which add the audio file
selected in the file browser to the current aqualung playlist, jump to
this audio
file and start to
play it.

Hello,

Aqualung does not work after suspend/resume cycle without restart.
It's kind of strange, it doesn't produce any errors and the playback
is much faster than normal but there is no sound.

After restart, aqualung works again as expected.

Package: aqualung
Version: 0.9~beta8-2
Severity: wishlist

Aqualung should support for files to have multiple genre and artist tags
(or pretty much any other tag multiple times!).
This is supported by at least the Ogg formats and ID3v2; I don't know
about the other formats.

In fact, this method is encouraged for Ogg formats, per
http://xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/v-comment.html:

Field names are not required to be unique (occur once) within a
comment header. As an example, assume a track was recorded by three well
know[n] artists; the following is permissible, and encouraged:

  ARTIST=Dizzy Gillespie
  ARTIST=Sonny Rollins
  ARTIST=Sonny Stitt

For genre tags, this is very important for me. I have many songs that
are tagged e.g. 'Swing' and 'Jazz'. Or 'Vocal' and 'Jazz'; there is lots
of Jazz that is around Vocals (e.g. Frank Sinatra) and lots of Jazz that
often doesn't have any vocals at all (e.g. Glenn Miller)

Hello,

Aqualung does not work without a restart of aqualung itself
if connection is lost to jackd.

If jackd is restarted aqualung reports errors but does not
reconnect to jackd and refuses to play anything, albeit good
jackd clients have no problems with this (e.g ardour).

I have only this:
Aqualung received signal 11 (Naruszenie ochrony pamięci - memory violation).

To help the developers fix the bug causing this crash,
please do the following:

1) configure & make Aqualung with --enable-debug
2) reproduce the crash
3) send the crash report to the developers

Thank you for supporting Aqualung!

What should I do to reproduce this bug correctly?

Package: aqualung
Version: 0.9~beta11-1
Severity: important

Aqualung runs fine until I try to play any track (I can change settings
or do anything else than playing a song) but when I play music, I get
the music played for 2 seconds and then it segfaults.
I tried with different files and different audio outputs (alsa, pulse,
oss) and the problem remains the same.
As suggested by Aqualung when it crashes, I rebuilt the debian package
from its sources adding the "--enable-debug" option. I have pasted all
the error messages that I got here after. Note that I am not a
developper and I am not used to all the utils to to debug programs, so I
have not been able run the built binary in a debugger. I tried to
recompile Aqualung manually (./configure --enable-debug && make) instead
of building the deb package, and it ran well in a debugger but then the
crash did not happen anymore.
Hope my explainations may help.

Bug#748560: Removed package(s) from unstable

2014-05-26 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

  aqualung | 0.9~beta11-2 | source, amd64, armel, armhf, i386, kfreebsd-amd64,
kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390x, sparc

--- Reason ---
RoQA; orphaned, incompatible with current libav
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 748...@bugs.debian.org.

unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency

If you
have further comments please address them to 747...@bugs.debian.org.

Bug#749334: nvi: Homepage header out of date

2014-05-26 Thread Axel Beckert
Package: nvi
Version: 1.81.6-11+b1
Severity: minor

Hi Henrique or who else is interested in adopting nvi,

the Homepage header of nvi currently points to a no more exiting web
page (http://www.kotnet.org/~skimo/nvi/).

The "older" homepage of nvi is http://www.bostic.com/vi/ and nowadays
redirects to https://sites.google.com/a/bostic.com/keithbostic/vi/, but
is horribly out of date (offers version 1.79 for download).

But it seems as if there's a at least some development (or maintenance)
going on at http://repo.or.cz/w/nvi.git so I recommend to use that as
upstream homepage for now.

I also suspect it may improve the package if a current snapshot of that
git repo would be used as base for the nvi package.

One obvious disadvantage of that snapshot is that it contains more
embedded code copies than before, see e.g. this commit:

http://repo.or.cz/w/nvi.git/commitdiff/e72e57ed514934ea574737e7571f1bd4ed539d42

But since the .orig.tar.gz needs to be build from a git snapshot anyway,
repackaging it to exclude embedded code copies shouldn't be an issue.

ii libdb5.3 5.3.28-3
ii libncursesw5 5.9+20140118-1
ii libtinfo5 5.9+20140118-1

Bug#749382: isdnactivecards: Conflicting parameter counts of function xlog

2014-05-26 Thread Michael Tautschnig
Package: isdnactivecards
Version: 1:3.9.20060704-11
Usertags: goto-cc

During a rebuild of all Debian packages in a clean sid chroot (using cowbuilder
and pbuilder) the build failed with the following error. Please note that we
use our research compiler tool-chain (using tools from the cbmc package), which
permits extended reporting on type inconsistencies at link time.

[...]
gcc -Wall -O2 -DUNIX -DLINUX -I. -Iinclude ./divautil/divalog.o
./divautil/loglib.o ./divautil/idilog.o ./divautil/xlog.o linuxcfg.o -L../lib
-lncurses -o divalog

error: conflicting function declarations "xlog"
old definition in module divalog file ./divautil/loglib.h line 136
void (struct _IO_FILE *, char *, unsigned int)
new definition in module xlog file ./divautil/xlog.c line 431
unsigned short int (struct _IO_FILE *stream, struct xlog_s *buffer)
Makefile:87: recipe for target 'divalog' failed
make[2]: *** [divalog] Error 64

The declaration here

http://sources.debian.net/src/isdnactivecards/1:3.9.20060704-11/eicon/divautil/loglib.h?hl=136#L136

and the actual definition here

http://sources.debian.net/src/isdnactivecards/1:3.9.20060704-11/eicon/divautil/xlog.c?hl=431#L431

show some major inconsistencies:

- the declaration suggests that 3 arguments are required;
- the type of the second argument may be inconsistent;
- the return types do not match.

Best,
Michael

Bug#749433: mtink: Conflicting declarations of function devRead to cause undefined behaviour

2014-05-26 Thread Michael Tautschnig
Package: mtink
Version: 1.0.16-8
Usertags: goto-cc

During a rebuild of all packages in a clean sid chroot (and cowbuilder+pbuilder)
the build failed with the following error. Please note that we use our research
compiler tool-chain (using tools from the cbmc package), which permits extended
reporting on type inconsistencies at link time.

[...]
Link mtink

error: conflicting function declarations "devRead"
old definition in module rw file mainSrc/rw.c line 93
signed long int (signed int fd, unsigned char *buf, unsigned long int sz,
signed int to)
new definition in module cmd file mainSrc/cmd.h line 73
signed int (signed int, unsigned char *, signed int, signed int)
Makefile:233: recipe for target 'mtink' failed
make[1]: *** [mtink] Error 64
make[1]: Leaving directory
'/srv/jenkins-slave/workspace/sid-goto-cc-mtink/mtink-1.0.16'
/usr/share/cdbs/1/class/makefile.mk:47: recipe for target
'debian/stamp-makefile-build' failed
make: *** [debian/stamp-makefile-build] Error 2

Rather than relying on rw.h, which has the correct declarations, cmd.h has this:

http://sources.debian.net/src/mtink/1.0.16-8/mainSrc/cmd.h?hl=73#L73

Consequently the calls to devRead defined here

http://sources.debian.net/src/mtink/1.0.16-8/mainSrc/rw.c?hl=93#L93

will face several problems:

- The value of sz will be undefined for any system with
  sizeof(long)>sizeof(int);
- the return value will be messed up (at least) on big endian systems

Best,
Michael
