In most cases, the .la file(s) can simply be removed as the process behind this MBF has already identified that there are no further dependencies using the .la file. In the unusual case that your package uses libltdl directly, it is still necessary to empty the dependency_libs part of all .la files remaining in the package. Once libiodbc2 is fixed, the process will repeat and other packages which you maintain may need to be fixed in turn. It is important that packages are fixed in sequence to avoid FTBFS bugs. If you believe that your package needs both the .la file and the dependency_libs settings, please raise this on debian-devel for clarification. -- Neil Williams = codeh...@debian.org http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/ --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: libiodbc2 Source-Version: 3.52.7-2 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of libiodbc2, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: iodbc_3.52.7-2_amd64.deb to main/libi/libiodbc2/iodbc_3.52.7-2_amd64.deb libiodbc2-dev_3.52.7-2_amd64.deb to main/libi/libiodbc2/libiodbc2-dev_3.52.7-2_amd64.deb libiodbc2_3.52.7-2.debian.tar.gz to main/libi/libiodbc2/libiodbc2_3.52.7-2.debian.tar.gz libiodbc2_3.52.7-2.dsc to main/libi/libiodbc2/libiodbc2_3.52.7-2.dsc libiodbc2_3.52.7-2_amd64.deb to main/libi/libiodbc2/libiodbc2_3.52.7-2_amd64.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Re: Bug#465900: perlsgml: requesting removal
Hi, it has been suggested that the package dh-kpatches should be removed from unstable but it is a Build-Depends of your package. Is it possible the remove this Build-Depends? Please see bug report #465900 for more information. Cheers, Torsten -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qa-packages-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Re: Bug#465900: perlsgml: requesting removal
Hi, thanks for your note. On 09/04/11 23:11, Torsten Werner wrote: it has been suggested that the package dh-kpatches should be removed from unstable but it is a Build-Depends of your package. Is it possible the remove this Build-Depends? Please see bug report #465900 for more information. If dh-kpatches wouldn't be available anymore, I would need to replace it by another tool (doing the same thing) for xenomai and rtai which would need some work. In #465900 I can see that the idea of removing dh-kpatches comes from the urge of removing alcovebook-sgml (with dh-kpatches build-depending on it). Maybe we can make dh-kpatches build without alcovebook-sgml? I find dh-kpatches helpful for building easily applicable patches from a bunch of diffs, even if make-kpkg doesn't support appying kernel patches directly anymore.
