Version: 0.80.1-4
Severity: wishlist

It would be great to have a plugin for Symbian devices like Revo,
Series5, etc devices, afaik there is no sync tool for contacts, todo's, etc.

I only know of abiword being able to open native doc format of Epoc,
but it doesn't exchange data.

With just a plugin, it would keep in sync evolution, mobiles, and
PDA's...

A plugin for palmOS devices would be great, but not as useful
because there is already a good support for palmOS devices

Regards

I'm synchronizing Evolution (libmultisync-plugin-evolution) with my Ericsson
T68 via IrMC. If I enter a weekly event in Evolution's calendar, only the
date where I first entered it seems to be downloaded into the T68's
calendar; it never gets to know that it should happen next week too,
even though the "Add new entries for recurring events" option is checked.

Multisync starts trying to synchronize with T610. Connection is
estamblished and suddenly, after approximately 15 secs, the
synchrnization fails (report in log-file) while the t610 still thinks it
is synchrnizing. No data is transmitted (seen on mobile device). Mobile
device must cancel synchronization manually, otherwise it won't ever
stop. No data is synchronized into mobile device. Thanks,

jochen

I'd really like to experiment with the MultiSync LDAP plugin, it would
be great if it were built as a .deb.

Thanks,
Mike.

I have recently upgrade my Debian unstable system and now multisync can
not find the libmultisync-plugin-opie anymore.

The libmultisync-plugin-opie package is installed but multisync does not
see the plugin actually.

I have tried to reinstall multisync and all it's plugins but the
problem persists.

Hi!

I've been playing with multisync to sync a SonyEricsson Z1010 using
bluetooth.
For the first plugin I'm using IrMC Mobile Device with the Bluetooth
connection type. The address and channel are detected correctly, as
confirmed by sdptool:

Service Name: OBEX IrMC Sync Server
Service RecHandle: 0x10006
Service Class ID List:
  "IrMCSync" (0x1104)
  Protocol Descriptor List:
  "L2CAP" (0x0100)
  "RFCOMM" (0x0003)
  Channel: 8
  "OBEX" (0x0008)
  Profile Descriptor List:
  "IrMCSync" (0x1104)
  Version: 0x0100

As root I can successfully sync the phone, however as a regular user it
says:
Failed to get first plugin changes: Not authorized.

I can, as a regular user, receive and send files to the phone through
OBEX...

Any clue?

Thanks!

/rp

When I start multisync in crashes immediately. This is what I get from

Package: libmultisync-plugin-evolution
Version: 0.82-3.2

When I press the sync button, nothing seems to happen. Afterwards I find
the following error message in the log:

Failed to get first plugin changes: Unknown error.

I attached the configuration for the sync-pair to this mail. Basically
the first plug in is Evolution, the second one is IrMC. It always works
exactly one time after I configure such a pair. All following sync
efforts result in the error above.

By the way, the first time after I configured such a pair it worked
really great. I was able to put hundreds of contacts on my mobile phone
almost flawlessly via bluetooth. Other sync-pairs, e.g. backup and IrMC
work well, even if I use them several times.

I'm using Debian Sarge, with a few packages from Sid.
Linux Kernel version is 2.6.9
Package versions:
evolution 2.0.3-1.1
evolution-data-server 1.0.3-2
libmultisync-plugin-backup 0.82-3.2
libmultisync-plugin-evolution 0.82-3.2
libmultisync-plugin-irmc 0.82-3.2
libmultisync-plugin-irmc-bluetooth 0.82-3.2
multisync 0.82-3.2

Sorry, but I have no suggestions for fixes. However, I can provide more
information as needed.

Regards, Michael

Severity: normal

When syncing my contacts with evolution and palm, all of the data
is sync'd successfully. This is good.

However, the fields in the palm and the fields in evolution don't
correspond with each other. For example, if I create a new entry
in the palm using the Home phone number, then sync with evolution,
the Home phone number doesn't end up in the 'Home' field in any
of the evolution views. But, if you open the contact editor, the
number is in the 'Home' field.

On the other hand, if I create a new Contact in evolution, with
just a name and Home Phone numberi, then use multisync, the data is
transferred to the palm, but into the Email field of the palm.

Not sure what the problem is here-- maybe incompatible vcard
specifications?

I'd really like to get the working since multisync is much more
reliable than gnome-pilot at this point.

Thanks!

Jamie Strandboge

I am running OpenZaurus 3.5.2.

MultiSync can log in to the FTP server fine. However, it then attempts
to CWD to Applications. OpenZaurus' FTP server defaults CWD to /.
MultiSync should CWD to ~ first. Creating Applications and Settings
symlinks in / fixed it, though that's annoying.

FWIW, KitchenSync gets it right.

Package: libmultisync-plugin-syncml
Version: 0.82-5
Severity: normal

The Evolution 2.0 and Backup plugins in MultiSync seem to work fine for
me, hence I am filing my bug here instead of in the MultiSync package,
though I cannot know for sure which is more accurate. Attempting to use
MultiSync as the server results in the log error "Failed to get second
plugin canges: Unknown error" (with any plugin as the first plugin, and
syncML server as the second plugin, or vice versa, in that case resulting in a
Failed to get first plugin changes..). Running the program from the command
line and getting the output that way shows that nothing is happening when Sync
is
clicked, though other pairs result in information about the success and
type of syncing being done. Using in client mode SEEMS to work (the
output shows that it found the data but failed to connect to a server
because I do not have a server to test against given the reported problem here).

I put severity at normal, since the multisync package in general seems
to work, though this particular plugin is rendered entirely unusable,
perhaps warranting a higher severity level. Hopefully this is coherent

Package: multisync
Version: 0.82-8

The package description could do with explaining that 'this is an old
version that relies on the Multisync framework and uses Multisync plugins.
A newer version (package name multisync0.90), also available in Debian,
instead relies on the Opensync framework and Opensync plugins.'
As it stands you aren't told that there's a difference of
Multisync/Opensync between the multisync and multisync0.90 packages so you
have to dig deep to understand what their differences are and which to
install.

The package description also needs to say it is a GTK graphical user
interface because multisync0.90 says it is and with multisync not doing so
it leads one to believe multisync is not a GUI when comparing one against
the other.

Also, please remove the redundant "To get all' near the end of the package
description.

For peoples' ease of use it would be really helpful if we could have this
kind of list in the package description:

'libmultisync-plugin-all installs the following:

libmultisync-plugin-backup - Backup plugin
libmultisync-plugin-evolution - Ximian Evolution plugin
libmultisync-plugin-irmc - IrMc Mobile plugin
libmultisync-plugin-irmc-bluetooth - Adds Bluetooth support to the IrMC
plugin
libmultisync-plugin-opie - Opie plugin

The following package might also be of use:
synce-multisync-plugin - a plugin for WindowsCE devices'

package: rezound

Hello,

I have been installing 64studio on a friend's computer, and have found a
problem with rezound. The reason I'm posting here not through 64studio's
forums is because 64studio includes the debian (stable) repositories by
default and the rezound package comes from debian's archive not the
64studio one.

The problem is that when you record, there is a regular clicking sound
recorded along with the audio signal. This is fairly loud, and far too
bad to ignore or filter out. This doesn't happen with audacity, which is
why I think the problem is with rezound.

The version is the one in debian stable, which I think is 0.12.2beta-8.
I can't check this because I only have occasional access to my friend's
machine.

Hi,

it seems that libmultisync-plugin-irmc-bluetooth depends on
bluez-utils which is now a transitional package, please depend on
bluez instead (or the bluetooth metapackage for the whole stack)

Package: rezound

rezound-0.12.3_beta simply ingores the parameters of the edited sound when
saving it as RAW file.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a stereo RAW file for example
2. monoize it
3. save it as RAW file
Actual Results:
The written file will be stereo.

Expected Results:
The written file should be mono.

This is because when saving a a RAW file the same RAW parameter dialog is used
as for opening a RAW file, with the only difference that certain GUI components
are hidden, which are initialized with hard coded default values.

Attached you find a patch which fixes the issue for rezound 0.12.3beta-3. Just
drop it into debian/patches.

I already forwarded the patch upstream, as a rather long release cycle is
expected however, please apply this patch to the debian package for now! (This
patch was already accepted by Gentoo almost 3 years ago BTW, see Gentoo bug
report 203471).

Bug#478762: Netbeans update

Sorry for the delay... I finally managed to review the last package for
netbeans 6.9 upload, netbeans itself. There is some issues with the upstream
source tarball that need to be fixed before we can upload it to Debian archive.

1) There is some binary blobs in tarball and I don't know if those are rebuild
from source during build (ie. we have to rebuild them). If that's the case,
from which source code ? Maybe, we'll have to provide a stripped upstream
tarball for now.
Here is the list of binary blobs :
./dlight.nativeexecution/release/bin/nativeexecution/*/*
./ide/launcher/macosx/macosx_launcher.dmg
./ide/launcher/macosx/NetBeansLauncher/English.lproj/MainMenu.nib/objects.nib
./lib.profiler/release/lib/deployed/cvm/linux/*.so

2) There is also some binary blobs which seems to be used for unit testing.
Seems unit test are not launched, maybe we can strip that from tarball too.
./autoupdate.services/test/unit/src/org/netbeans/api/autoupdate/data/*.nbm
./autoupdate.services/test/unit/src/org/netbeans/modules/autoupdate/updateprovider/data/*.nbm
./lib.cvsclient/test/data/iz56710/binary.out
./profiler.oql/test/unit/src/org/netbeans/modules/profiler/oql/engine/api/impl/small_heap.bin
./subversion/test/qa-functional/data/repo_dump.gz

3) The J2EE tutorial source is under some binary "*.fm" files. Those files have
a "MakerFile 7.0" header. Does those files are used to generate some real
resource in Debian package ? Do we have some tool in Debian to open those files
? What's licence of thise J2EE Tutorial ?
./usersguide/tutorials/j2ee-tut/fm/*.fm
./usersguide/tutorials/j2ee-tut/fm/J2EE-NBTutorial.book
