Bug#567770: 567770 Please re-open, still borks system

2010-10-31 Thread Steven Altermatt
Subject:
Package: e16
Severity: normal

I wrongly decided to trust this upgrade to version 1.0.0-4, but it resulted
in
a bigger mess than the last nmu upload. Last time I just downgraded to ver.
1.0.0-3
and everything was back to where it was. This time, first I checked the
/etc/e16 folder
after upgrade, it was empty except for an empty menu folder. When I booted
up
this morning, e16 loaded fine and I thought the upgrade had worked...wrong!
The mouse did not work except in the open applications; no menus appeared
with
any mouse click, no move to next/previous desktop with mouse scroll, windows
couldn't be moved, first try to re-size failed, but second try worked, also
the window
buttons did not work when I clicked on them, the app menus worked though.
Some of the
applications' windows were placed wrongly with the top off the screen and
not usable. I
decided to downgrade again, but upon reboot, since I couldn't restart e16
due
to no menus and for some reason now Ctl-Alt-Bkspce didn't work, the result
was even
worse than the 1.0.0-3.1 version. I was forced to do a forced restore of my
most recent
backup, unfortunately 2 1/2 weeks old,and then redo all the upgrades. A
previous reporter,
Travis Crump, had stated that the working1.0.0-3 version should be
re-uploaded as a new version.
I agree. I have now pinned to that version, since it seems no one can get
this right.

Bug#602055: iamerican: analyses

2010-10-31 Thread Dylan Thurston
Package: iamerican
Version: 3.1.20.0-7

iamerican does not recognize 'analyses'. In American English, there
is a verb form 'analyzes', but the plural of the noun 'analysis' is
still 'analyses'.

(The word is also missing from wamerican-huge, despite the inclusion
there of much rarer forms like 'metanalyses'.)
