Package: php-elisp
Version: 1.1.0-2
Severity: normal

After my latest package update, the emacs install fails.

During byte-compile, I get the following error:

[...]
Loading 50speedbar-beta (source)...
Loading 51debian-el (source)...
While compiling toplevel forms in file
/usr/share/emacs21/site-lisp/php-elisp/php-mode.el:
  !! Wrong type argument ((stringp nil))
Done
emacs-install: /usr/lib/emacsen-common/packages/install/php-elisp emacs21
failed at /usr/lib/emacsen-common/emacs-install line 28,  line 16.
dpkg: error processing emacs21 (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
[...]

Because of this bug, "emacs21" is not configured, which makes
"emacsen" not installed which prevents other emacs-related packages
from being installed.

A full log of `apt-get install -f` is attached.

I don't know whether this is a bug of php-elisp or emacs itself (I
don't know much about lisp and emacs internals), but as the error
definitely saye php-mode.el, I'll file bug with this package.

The default urls to php.net can be improved:

php-manual-url (gives a 404)
from "http://www.php.net/manual/en/manual.php";
to   "http://www.php.net/manual/en/";

php-search-url (I dont know which one is better)
from "http://www.php.net/";
to   "http://www.php.net/manual-lookup.php?pattern=";

Just my 2 cents

Bug#580860: toshset: C source files are gzipped

2010-05-09 Thread Nicolas Boulenguez
Package: toshset
Version: 1.75-2
Severity: minor

Hello.

This is cosmetic, but the README.Debian says to call "sh install.sh"
and it does not work out of the box.

Please add "-X.c" to the dh_compress invocation in debian/rules so
that the provided module C sources are not compressed.

Maybe it would be better to add a gunzip invocation in
/usr/share/doc/toshset/toshiba_acpi/*/install.sh so that only the
wanted source is uncompressed, if actually needed.

Thanks for maintaining this tool.

I've a Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller

hardware is not present. If you user wishs to install this fireware he
should get it. When it's unused and his device still doesn't work, it's
the problem of the user, he selected the wrong package.

Bug#576513: gob2 segfaults on non-intel arches

probably won’t. Looking at the build log I notice that the failing
builds were all done before your fix for segfault on
dispose/finalise/construct. My upload of link-monitor-applet just hit
the timeframe where the fixed version was built for i386 and amd64, but
not the other architectures. So it was just a problem on Debian’s side,
sorry for bothering you.

Greetings,
Joachim

I am trying to move to usb floppies in my environment. Unfortunately,
superformat cannot grok usb floppy drives

$ sudo superformat /dev/sdg
Not a floppy drive

Which is probably broken as designed.
I am primarily looking to have something that does allow low level formatting
of floppies to be documented.

Hi,

This is not a bug. You can read the following at the end of the package
description: « Note that these utilities do not work for USB floppy drives,
because these do not allow direct access to the floppy controller. »

Please have a look at the package ufiformat instead.
