Bug#566638: Removed package(s) from unstable

2010-01-24 Thread Debian Archive Maintenance
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

xppaut | 5.98-1 | source, alpha, amd64, armel, hppa, hurd-i386, i386,
ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

--- Reason ---
RoQA: last upload 2004, few users - completly buggy
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 566...@bugs.debian.org.

The full log for this bug can be viewed at http://bugs.debian.org/566638

This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is
a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing

Bug#559425: New upstream version available...but...

2010-01-24 Thread Bernd Zeimetz

Hi,

I thought that the new upstream versions might fixe some of the issues... but
after stumbling upon a bunch of binary firmware blobs I gave up. Unfortunately I
think this package needs a lot of love and time.

The first fix might be to review all licensing issues and move it to non-free if
possible.

Cheers,

Bernd

Serious licensing issues in isdnutils

2010-01-24 Thread Bernd Zeimetz
Hi Maintainers,

unfortunately the package isdnutils is in a very bad shape and not distributable
right now (see #559425 for details). The package is orphaned since several
months and should be removed if nobody starts to take care of it soon.
As one of you packages (build-)depends on it, you might be interested to bring
it into a better shape. There is a new upstream version available, while it
might fix licensing issues, it also comes with several non-free binary firmware
blobs... so its definitely not an easy task.

Bug#566730: qsynth: Show up in lost+found KDE menu section, should be in Multimedia section

2010-01-24 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: qsynth
Version: 0.3.4-1
Tags: patch
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
UserTags: debian-edu

In a Debian Edu Squeeze installation, qsynth show up in the lost+found
KDE menu section. No program should be there. I believe the cause of
this is that none of the categories listed in the desktop file for
qsynth is recognized by KDE in Squeeze. I found a solution by adding
the 'AudioVideo' category to the file. This moved the menu entry to
the Multimedia section, where I believe it belong.

This untested patch (as in I have not tried to build the package after
it is applied) should solve the issue:

Source: sfind
Severity: serious
Justification: orphaned, low popcon, an alternative is Essential: yes
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: proposed-removal

sfind seems like a candidate for removal from Debian:

* orphaned
* low popcon (7 votes)
* doesn't seem any better than modern findutils, which is Essential: yes

GNU findutils seems to have the advantages cited in sfind's Description now,
so sfind no longer seems to be necessary?

If you want to keep this package around in Debian, please adopt it and close
this bug.

If you don't think it's worth keeping, please send the following commands

Hi,

your package FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD because it needs a little
buildsys-related porting. I did so by using a variable to gather all CC
settings for architectures supported by Debian (Linux, GNU(/Hurd) and
GNU/kFreeBSD). There's also the '/' pitfall meaning it's needed to tweak
ARCH a bit before using it in a filename. As for the addition of the
and-GNU_kFreeBSD.c file, I've used and-GNU.c

Thanks for considering.
