Hi,

your package FTBFS on kfreebsd-*. I'm attaching a patch which almost
fixes it, but I'm now getting:
| ps_inspect.c: In function ‘main’:
| ps_inspect.c:342: error: format ‘%ld’ expects type ‘long int’, but argument 3
has type ‘off_t’

The OFF_T_PRINTF #defines at the top of tools/ps_inspect.c seem very
buggy too me, I guess you should be checking this kind of things from
configure.

KiBi.

Bug#558105: defoma-doc: defoma-hints docs should mention that opentype is not supported

2009-11-26 Thread Michael Below
Package: defoma-doc
Severity: minor

I am trying to install local Opentype fonts into Debian using
defoma. For some years now, Opentype is the industry standard for
fonts. defoma seems to supports opentype fonts somehow, but defoma-hints
obviously doesn't support autogenerating hints for this (bug
#477435, side note in bug #422763). The bug reports exist since
two years now, this seems to be a design limitation.

The defoma documentation doesn't mention any font formats, so one
would expect opentype is supported by all parts of defoma. I would propose
adding a sentence like "Supported font categories are truetype and
type1" to the "Description" section of the defoma-hints manpage
(or supporting opentype, but that doesn't seem to happen soon).

Thanks,

Michael Below

Bug#558191: Several errors in pcopy (1.5-2)

2009-11-26 Thread carsten_
Package: pcopy
Version: 1.5-2

Hi!

After having a lot of problems with pcopy I found several bugs in the source
code:

- Missing #include , which brakes strerror(errno) and memset();
therefore you don't get an error message opening non-existent files in line 460
(see below), but instead a segfault (see
http://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com/msg1635237.html).

- write_fd = open(dstdev, O_WRONLY+O_SYNC) in line 457 does't create new files,
so I suggest to use something like

if (fstat(read_fd, &read_sb) == -1)
{
fprintf(stderr, ...);
}

write_fd = creat(dstdev, read_sb.st_mode);
if (write_fd < 0)
{
fprintf(stderr, ...);
}

instead.

- The most severe bug (and I guess this leads to #484067) is the
if (write_pos =! pos) [should be of course "!="]
in line 176 when writing the new file.

I fixed these bugs (new source in attachment) and besides that I reformatted
the source code and added some curly brackets in nested if-statements (so the
diff is quite large and not very useful).

Cheers,

Carsten

When building this package on Ubuntu (where default python is 2.6), I'm getting
this error:
dh_install: python-hk-classes missing files (usr/lib/python*), aborting
make: *** [binary-install/python-hk-classes] Error 1
dpkg-buildpackage: error: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status 2

This is because my python2.6 patch is not applied, and python stuff get
installed in usr/local/python2.6: patch python2.6-fix.patch contains a patch
to create python2.6.patch at build time, and this patch is not applied to the
source code.
The solution consist in actually building a source code with the generated patch
pytnhon2.6.patch in debian/patch.

Thanks,
Fabrice

Intent to NMU sun-java6 to fix pending po-debconf l10n bugs

2009-11-26 Thread Christian Perrier
Dear Debian maintainer,

The sun-java6 Debian package, which you are the maintainer of, has
pending bug report(s) which include translation updates or fixes
for po-debconf, namely bug number 535184 (and maybe other similar bugs).

The i18n team is now hunting the very last bits of missing localization
and your package went on our radar. You may have uploaded recently but,
unfortunately for you, you then got *another* l10n bug report.

So, sorry for this, but the radar beeped at your package and here am I
with an NMU intent...:-)

I have the intention, as part of a more general action of the Debian
i18n Task Force to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for sun-java6 in order to fix this as well as all pending translations
for the debconf templates.

Of course, an upload made by you would even be better...:-)

Such changes are always harmless, which explains why I safely consider
building NMU's for such issues even though they're obviously non critical.

The schedule for the NMU (in case it happens, that is if you agree with it
or if I don't receive any answer in 10 days) is roughly the following:

 Friday, November 27, 2009 : send this notice
 Tuesday, December 01, 2009   : post a NMU announcement to debian-i18n with
you
 (maintainer) CC'ed
 this can happen earlier if the maintainer agrees
 In such case, the deadlines below will also
 happen earlier
 Monday, December 07, 2009 : (midnight) deadline for receiving
translation updates
 Tuesday, December 08, 2009 : build the package and upload it to
DELAYED/7-day
 send the NMU patch to the BTS
 Tuesday, December 15, 2009 : NMU reaches incoming

If you intent to upload yourself, please notify me so that I interrupt
the process on my side. Please also don't upload without a discussion
with me. Some translators might send a few new translations and I can handle
a round of translation updates for you. Really, don't upload silently...:-)

In case I upload an NMU, I will subscribe to the Package Tracking System for
sun-java6 and follow its life for 60 days after my NMU in order to fix
any issue potentially introduced by my upload.

Let me know, as soon as possible, if you have any kind of objection to this
process.

If you'd rather do the fix yourself, I will of course leave the package
alone. Same if you have reasons not to do the update now.
