Bug#545300: sg3_utils: Update home page

2009-09-06 Thread Martin Pitt
Package: sg3-utils

(converting to a bug report)

Indeed the home page moved to http://sg.danny.cz/sg/ . Please update

version=3.2.5

Hi there,

A few weeks ago the latest sg3_utils version was 1.28, but now all over
sudden the tarballs and mentions on the website are gone. I'm wondering
what happened and why? Maybe you could clear things up for me. I'd
appreciate it.

Best regards,
Marvin Schmidt

sqlrelay override disparity

2009-09-06 Thread Archive Administrator
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

libsqlrelay-java_0.39.4-9_i386.deb: package says section is misc, override says
java.
libsqlrelay-ruby_0.39.4-9_i386.deb: package says section is misc, override says
ruby.
php5-sqlrelay_0.39.4-9_i386.deb: package says section is misc, override says
php.
zope-sqlrelayda_0.39.4-9_all.deb: package says section is misc, override says
zope.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]

synfig override disparity

2009-09-06 Thread Archive Administrator
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

synfig-dbg_0.61.09-3_i386.deb: package says section is libdevel, override says
debug.

Bug#491900: fixed

2009-09-06 Thread Debian Archive Maintenance
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

kxgenerator | 0.3.7+dfsg-3 | source, alpha, amd64, armel, hppa, hurd-i386,
i386, ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 491...@bugs.debian.org.

The full log for this bug can be viewed at http://bugs.debian.org/491900

This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is
a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing

Bug#545388: In /etc/modprobe.d/broadcom-sta-common.conf, b43 should be b44.

2009-09-06 Thread rich mack
Package: broadcom-sta-common
Version: 5.10.91.9-1
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: unknow

Ok, I think that I have this somewhat figured out. Since I haven't debugged at
this level (I'm not a programmer by trade or claim), I think I have found a bug
that needs to be reported to someone, but I don't know how or to whom. Does
this go to a Debian Developer (I did use the Debian package) or does this need
to get to a Broadcom developer?

/etc/modprobe.d/broadcom-sta-common.conf
# original contents was the line immediately below
# install wl /sbin/modprobe -qr b43 ssb; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install wl
$CMDLINE_OPTS
install wl /sbin/modprobe -qr b44 ssb; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install wl
$CMDLINE_OPTS

My best guess, was that the reason my wifi isn't working that it's related to
the module ssb. I can not keep the module from being loaded and I can not
remove the module. After reading some about blacklisting
http://wiki.debian.org/KernelModuleBlacklisting I saw that I was not entering
'blacklist ssb' in the correct file and I followed the instruction the the URL.
I had previously noticed that there was some dependency of b44 on ssb and I
couldn't remove ssb until b44 was out of the way. I decided to (I don't really
know why) look at /etc/modprobe.d/broadcom-sta-common.conf and noticed the
removal of b43 module instead of b44 module. So when I changed 'b43' to 'b44' I
then had wifi. As noted in a previous post, b44 is my wired ethernet.

The only thing that might be a concern, is that my wireless device is named
eth1 instead of wlan0. Not that it really matters but in keeping convention, my
wireless should be wlanX not ethX.
