I think you mean the kbs=\177 in xterm-debian, right? Fortunately,
Debian's xterm package carries that patch around, so I just grabbed the
terminfo file from /usr/share/doc/xterm/xterm.terminfo.gz.

These work indeed much better with the updated terminfo.

I'm afraid I do not follow. With "Meta Sends Escape" enabled in xterm,
I do not notice any problem in bash. If it is disabled, all programs
misbehave with regard to the Meta (=Alt on my keyboard) key, at least in
a UTF-8 locale. See bug #266336¹.

What exactly needs to be done for that?

According to the Debian changelog, the xterm terminfo database is based
on xterm 200 which is 4.5 years old. Do you think it would be safe to
update to the one in xterm 246?

Changing kbs of course.

I think you mean the kbs=\177 in xterm-debian, right? Fortunately,
Debian's xterm package carries that patch around, so I just grabbed the

Most of the other changes are function-keys (which is the point of this
report).

These work indeed much better with the updated terminfo.

good (report bugs).

The only other issue is for smm/rmm, which is a nuisance for bash users.
While it's correct, bash users may expect the meta key to send escape.

I'm afraid I do not follow. With "Meta Sends Escape" enabled in xterm,
I do not notice any problem in bash. If it is disabled, all programs

I seem to recall the original report was in a newsgroup. But for instance

http://fixunix.com/slackware/125048-slackware-current-xterm-problem-del-bs-meta-keys.html
http://bugs.gentoo.org/246091

This only affects users of xterm (none of the other terminals which may
set $TERM to "xterm" implement either the sequence or the corresponding
meta mode).

So you may want to update xterm-debian and exclude that feature.

What exactly needs to be done for that?

I was suggesting that you may/may not want smm/rmm in xterm-debian.

The architecture-independent files (those marked "Architecture: all" in
debian/control) are built by the uploader, as are the
architecture-dependent files for his architecture. The packages for the
other architectures are built by the buildd's. So as long as we only
package the Ada95 documentation, there is no problem, as that would be
Architecture: all. The documentation should be split out from
libncurses5-dev anyway to save space in the archive, see #233400.

What I would not like to do is to build with "--with-ada" on some
architectures and "--without-ada" on others, possibly carrying around a
moving list of architectures that have an ada-compiler.

Bug#544554: manpages of libmotif should be fixed

2009-09-01 Thread Patrick Schoenfeld
Package: openmotif
Severity: minor

The current openmotif packages include several lintian overrides
to suppress as less as about 500 warnings about manpage errors.
Currently I'm in progress of preparing a new upstream release,
which has additional 1300 warnings about manpage errors (but less
lintian overrides, because I fixed one more obvious mistake in every
manpage).

This problem should be raised upstream and be fixed by them.
For now I'll adding lintian overrides, too, so this is a bug
remembering me or whoever else wants to do the next QA upload
to fix this issue.

Regards,
Patrick

Hi Alexander,

first I'd like to thank you for you bug report. I have some questions and
remarks to it:

How does this break unrelated software?

Both of the described ways don't crash rawstudio here, it just works well.
Looking at your error message something is buggy at your system - like dbus not
working properly. Is there anything you could fix there?

Cheers,

Bernd

Package: ttf-linux-libertine
Version: 4.4.1-1

The ttf-linux-libertine package was recently upgraded from 4.1.8-1 to
4.4.1-1; something in the changes brought by this upgrade has broken
XeTeX's ability to use "fi" ligature in the bold version of the font.

A minimal example showing the problem is this:

vega david /tmp $ cat breakage0.tex
\font\thefont="Linux Libertine Bold"
\thefont fi
\bye

With Debian's current version of texlive-xetex (2007.dfsg.2-6), this
produces the following diagnostic (the warning part about the .map
file is irrelevant to the problem being discussed; the bad thing is
the bit about "Output file removed"):

vega david /tmp $ xetex breakage0
This is XeTeXk, Version 3.141592-2.2-0.996-patch2 (Web2C 7.5.6)
 %&-line parsing enabled.
entering extended mode
(./breakage0.tex [1] )

It seems that the bug was fixed between 4.4.1-1 and 4.4.1-3 (I can
really make it appear and disappear by downgrading and upgrading
between those two versions, presently in testing and sid). Looking at
the changelog, I can't begin to guess which change might have fixed
the problem, but I guess all is for the best.

Thanks, I'll try to remember that this program exists!

You are wrong.

the link http://ftp.twaren.net/Unix/NonGNU/dzongkha-gnome/firefox/
contains translations for 3.0 (not 3.5)

The link
http://www.mancomun.org/index.php/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,111/func,fileinfo/id,54/
contains no link to firefox translation.

The link http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/extensions/ is
404.

I think no.
I'm maintaining a few iceweasel ext packages,
Some of them were rejected at stage NEW because its copyright didn't
contain records about all copyright holders and contributors.

Contributor is a copyright holder for his part.
