Package: adplug
Version: 2.0.1-7
Severity: serious

many music files in the adplug-2.0.1/tests directory in the source
tarball are directly copied from proprietary games, which still
subject to copyrights.
The music samples may be easy to DFSG'ified as they are not used for
the binary package.

I do not remember if I spotted that before, but that seems to imply
the lib package does not patch the soname, and possibly that the
soname is too fuzzy. We should check this with Stafan (CC'd).

--- Begin Message ---
Package: mbrowse
Version: 0.3.1-7
Severity: serious
Usertags: implicit-pointer-conversion

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that is likely to
cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a
pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64.

  Function `gtk_text_new' implicitly converted to pointer at interface.c:462
  Function `gtk_text_new' implicitly converted to pointer at details.c:422

This is often due to a missing function prototype definition.
For more information, see [2].

A workaround might be to build with -DGTK_ENABLE_BROKEN, though
presumably there is a replacement interface that can be used instead.

Though it is guaranteed that this codepath will cause a segfault on certain
architectures, it is not guaranteed that this codepath would ever be executed
(e.g., if the returned pointer is never dereferenced). However, this bug
does prevent the ia64 buildd from successfully building this package, resulting
in a practical FTBFS issue and warranting the serious severity.

I just uploaded dict-devil 1.0-11 to mentors.debian.net. Would you like
to review and/or sponsor it? If not, I'll send an RFS mail to
debian-mentors.

Indeed. That would require finding a text-only version of these old
dictionaries, though. I'll look around a bit.

Bug#538895: gimageview: crash (segmentation fault) after Page Up or Page Down

2009-07-27 Thread Vincent Lefevre
Package: gimageview

Severity: normal

When I open gimv (with no arguments) in a directory containing at
least 1 photo, double-click on the directory (on the left), and type
Page Up or Page Down, gimv crashes. This is always reproducible. The
same crash occurs with "gimv -d directory" then Page Up or Page Down.
Here's a backtrace.

a fix for this bug. I've appended the corresponding changelog entries to
this mail.

Source: libdumbnet
Binary: libdumbnet1 libdumbnet-dev python-dumbnet
Architecture: source i386
Version: 1.12-1
Distribution: unstable
Urgency: low
Maintainer: Jan Christoph Nordholz
Changed-By: Jan Christoph Nordholz
Description:
 libdumbnet-dev - A dumb, portable networking library -- development files
 libdumbnet1 - A dumb, portable networking library -- shared library
 python-dumbnet - A dumb, portable networking library -- python bindings
Closes: 388541 474128
Changes:
 libdumbnet (1.12-1) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream version.
   * Update upstream location in all Debian files, but do not overwrite
 the upstream README - add a note to README.Debian instead.
   * Add a symbols file.
   * Bump Standards Version to 3.8.2.
 .
 libdumbnet (1.11-1) UNRELEASED; urgency=low
 .
   * Adopt the package. Closes: #474128.
   * New upstream version.
   * Completely rework the packaging. Use dpatch for patch management.
   * Thoroughly revise debian/copyright.
   * Accomplish the Debian-specific library renaming by modifying the
 .am files and rerunning the whole auto-toolchain. This is the cleanest
 way to do this and produces the smallest distro diff.
 -> New dpatch (script): 01rename_library.sh
   * Activate the python module build (closes: #388541):
 * Configure --with-python.
 * Patch the .pyx code to avoid using the reserved keyword 'type' as a
   mundane identifier.
   -> New dpatch: 02python_type_is_reserved
 * Patch the python Makefile to build against all current python versions.
   -> New dpatch: 03build_all_python_versions
   * Use debhelper v7.
   * Standards Version is now 3.8.1.
