Package: falconseye
Version: 1.9.2-4

I don't have music: /dev/dsp busy... But if I ask xmms, it plays music, so
esound works well (and I saw [ldd] that falconseye should be able to use
it)... And if I kill esound, it doesn't seem to help.

Feel free to ask if you want more information.

When I launch falconseye from my KDE menu
(K->Games->Debian->Adventure->Falcon's Eye), it displays a window,
then immidiately crashes. The same thing happens if I use KDE's Run
dialog, but it runs fine if I launch it from an xterm.

When prompting for a list of objects, an object can be assigned the
space character. Moreover, the choices are non-trivial to guess.

Having space as a potention option gives the false impression that this
item cannot be selected via a key.

The character-key selection algorithm should probably ignore an initial
"a ", "an ", "The ", as well as the "+number", "-number", and spaces.

Hello,

sometimes the game issues a series of dots during startup,
and then it issues the error message shown above. Then
the game immediately exits. Issuing the dots appears normal,
but after it first emits the error message, the only way
to get it to start up properly was to remove the several
*lock.[0-9] files in /var/games/falconseye.

Play the game in Xplore mode. Go down to level 4 or 5. Annoy some
guards or a kitten or a horse. Get trapped between two of such
thingies. Refuse to die. When two of these are on either side of you,
(so you would expect to be able to move sideways), the game "freezes"

Hi,
I've installed falconseye on my iBook2, but every so often (seems like
this is most likely to happen when the menus are displayed just after
my character is killed), the screen goes black and it is impossible to
continue using the program. This happens both in full-screen and
windowed mode. After killing the program, it restarts normally. While
it is having this problem, I get the following sorts of errors from X

It does not look to be possible to launch falconseye on a machine with
no sound system installed. Given the nature of NetHack, one would
think that it is possible to play falconseye without sound...

A --nosound option would seem to be the easiest way of getting to

2008-08-04 Thread Petr Salinger

User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,

the current version fails to build on GNU/kFreeBSD,
because of outdated libtool.

The version of libtool in src/expat is too old to correctly
support Debian GNU/k*BSD, libtool 1.5.2-1 or later is need.

Here is how to update the libtool in your package:

  cd src/expat/
  cp /usr/share/libtool/ltmain.sh conftools/
  cp /usr/share/libtool/libtool.m4 conftools/
  autoconf

Thanks in advance

MODSECURITY LICENSING EXCEPTION
===

Version 1.0, 29 July 2008

As a special exception ("Exception") to the terms and conditions of version 2
of the GPL, Breach Security, Inc. hereby grants you the rights described
below, provided you agree to the terms and conditions in this Exception,
including its obligations and restrictions on use.

Exception Intent

We want specified Free/Libre and Open Source Software ("FLOSS") programs to be
able to use ModSecurity (the "Program") despite the fact that not all FLOSS
licenses are compatible with version 2 of the GNU General Public License (the
"GPLv2").

Legal Terms and Conditions
==

You are free to distribute a Derivative Work that is formed entirely from the
Program and one or more works (each, a "FLOSS Work") licensed under one or
more of the licenses listed below in section 1, as long as all of the
following conditions are met:

  1. You obey the GPLv2 in all respects for the Program and the Derivative
Work, except for identifiable sections of the Derivative Work which are

 1. not derived from the Program, and

 2. are not designed to interact with the Program, and

 3. which can reasonably be considered independent and separate works in
themselves.

  2. All such identifiable sections of the Derivative Work are

 1. distributed subject to one of the FLOSS licenses listed below, and

 2. the object code or executable form of those sections are accompanied
by the complete corresponding machine-readable source code for those
sections on the same medium and under the same FLOSS license as the
corresponding object code or executable forms of those sections.

  3. Any works which are aggregated with the Program or with a Derivative Work
on a volume of a storage or distribution medium in accordance with the
GPLv2, can reasonably be considered independent and separate works in
themselves which are not derivatives of either the Program, a Derivative
Work or a FLOSS Work, and are not designed to interact with the Program.

If the above conditions are not met, then the Program may only be copied,
modified, distributed or used under the terms and conditions of the GPLv2
or another valid licensing option from Breach Security, Inc.

Bug#493779: iwconfig and ifconfig path

2008-08-04 Thread Joey Hess
Package: procmeter3
Version: 3.5a-4
Severity: normal

iwconfig and ifconfig are in /sbin, which is not in the default path.
procmeter3 will
offer to run iwconfig and ifconfig if you right-click on a ethernet interface
or wireless link graph.

I don't think these programs belong in /sbin, since regular users can
legitimatly want to use them. However, fixing that is something we have
historically failed to do. Partly because of all the things that
hardcode the path to the program. Largely because it's not in the
standard path.

To avoid perpetuating that particular catch-22, I suggest that
procmeter3 could add /sbin to its own PATH..
