Package: fv
Version: 3.0-16
Severity: serious
User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Usertags: qa-ftbfs-20080506 qa-ftbfs
Justification: FTBFS on i386

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
i386.

This rebuild was done with gcc 4.3 instead of gcc 4.2, because gcc 4.3
is now the default on most architectures (even if it's not the case on
i386 yet). Consequently, many failures are caused by the switch to gcc
4.3.
If you determine that this failure is caused by gcc 4.3, feel free to
downgrade this bug to 'important' if your package is only built on i386,
and this bug is specific to gcc 4.3 (i.e the package builds fine with
gcc 4.2).

To be able to check boot script order, and also to be able to start
boot scripts in parallel, it is important to know the dependencies of
the various boot scripts. The Linux Software Base specifies a init.d
header file format useful for this purpose, and adding such header to
a init.d script would make it possible for me to use this information
to check the current sequence and to speed up the debian boot.

I am working on a system to update the boot sequence based on these
dependencies, and would like see this as the default in Lenny.
Because of this, it is nice if the dependencies was updated quickly.
This issue is a release goal for Lenny, and I set severity important
because of this. This package is one of 5 left to fix before Lenny.

http://refspecs.freestandards.org/LSB_2.1.0/LSB-generic/LSB-generic/initscrcomconv.html>
documents the LSB header format. Some debian notes are available from
http://wiki.debian.org/LSBInitScripts>.

Here is a patch to document the dependencies. I hope this is correct.

Bug#489741: netpipes: timelimit shall die when impossible to run the command

2008-07-07 Thread Olivier Macchioni
Package: netpipes
Version: 4.2-3
Severity: normal

Use case:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ touch /tmp/a
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ timelimit 10 /tmp/a
timelimit: Unable to exec /tmp/a (Permission denied)

Here timelimit hangs forever... although the primary usage of timelimit
is specifically to stop the command after a given time.

So... when run from a crontab, the user ends up with thousands of
"timelimit" processes running, all .

When the command is not executable, timelimit shall:
1) (preferred) just die or
2) die after seconds

There is not a desktop file and an icon. This patch fix those issues.

*** /tmp/tmpn25TAe
In Ubuntu, we've applied the attached patch to achieve the following:

  * Add debian/gtkpycad.xpm icon.
  * debian/rules: install icons and desktop file (LP: #236391).
