Bug#481916: RFP: MMA -- Musical Midi Accompaniment generator
Package: mma Severity: wishlist * Package name: mma Version : 1.3 Upstream Author : David Asorey Álvarez * URL : http://www.mellowood.ca/mma/index.html * License : GNU GPL Description : "MMA—Musical MIDI Accompaniment" is an accompaniment generator. It creates midi tracks for a soloist to perform over from a user supplied file containing chords and MMA directives. There is a very ancient version 0.3 in Debian. Recent MMA 1.3 is based on Python 2.4 and - together with its GUI "LeMMA" - a valid replacement of Band in a Box. I believe we should include this system in Debian, and thus request this package. Bug#481970: libpam-pgsql: while in authentication phase induces success, may circumvent sudo et al.
Package: libpam-pgsql Version: 0.6.3-1 Severity: critical Tags: security Justification: root security hole I recently upgraded libpam-pgsql to 0.6.3-1. I now noticed that pressing during libpam-pgsql's authentication phase, e.g., when sudo is asking for the user's password, erroneously causes sudo to succeed as if the user had entered the correct password, IF pam_pgsql.so has been configured as a "sufficient" authentication module in the system's PAM setup. I am attaching my /etc/pam.d/common-auth and /etc/pam.d/sudo files for illustration. Only the former has been changed from the PAM defaults. Here's a transcript demonstrating the effect: | io:~> id | uid=1004(julian) gid=100(users) groups=0(root),4(adm),8(mail),32(postgres),40(src),50(staff),100(users),[...] | io:~> sudo -k | io:~> sudo id | [sudo] password for julian: ^C | uid=0(root) gid=0(root) groups=0(root),4(adm) Even though pam_pgsql.so is not configured as a "sufficient" auth module by default, I consider this a critical security issue in the libpam- pgsql package. Feel free to downgrade the severity if you think otherwise. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (90, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i586) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-486 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libpam-pgsql depends on: ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libmhash2 0.9.9-1Library for cryptographic hashing ii libpam0g 0.99.7.1-6 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpq58.3.1-1PostgreSQL C client library libpam-pgsql recommends no packages. -- no debconf information # # /etc/pam.d/common-auth - authentication settings common to all services # # This file is included from other service-specific PAM config files, # and should contain a list of the authentication modules that define # the central authentication scheme for use on the system # (e.g., /etc/shadow, LDAP, Kerberos, etc.). Compile prestimel with ImageMagick from experimental
Hi! Your package prestimel seems to build-depends on libmagick9-dev (if not then sorry for the noise). We have a new ImageMagick available at experimental (version 7:6.4.0.9.dfsg1-1) and it has some libraries renaming [1]. Is it possible to you test the building of your package with the new ImageMagick libraries and see if it builds and works as expected, please? If you need help or have troubles, don't hesitate in contacting us. [1] Libraries changes are: libmagick9-dev becomes libmagickcore-dev and/or libmagickwand-dev; libmagick++9-dev becomes libmagick++-dev. Thank you very much for your attention! When replacing that with -lMagickCode it builds fine. I would prefer to replace it with Magick-config --libs but that also includes -lMagickWand which is not really needed. Any way around that?
