Given that nobody objected and that the WNPP bug has no activity ever,
I guess we should go ahead and remove that. I've filed a bug against
junior-system that it should drop the dependency.

Bug#468825: bfr: Please remove hardlinks from package

2008-04-30 Thread James Westby
severity 468825 serious
thanks

Hi,

It was pointed out to me that this actually violates Debian Policy,
section 4.8. I think this warrants a serious severity, but I'm not
absolutely sure that "may not" as used in that section is equivalent
to a "must".

Thanks,

James

The patch is incorrect.

Leonardo, please correct it as I told you in private.
By the way, it just happens that I'm checking every message with the
word 'bash' on its subject; I've nothing against you :)

Bug#410401: scheme48: Please package new upstream version

2008-04-30 Thread Tzvetan Mikov
Hi,
I just found this bug, quite a while after it was submitted. In response to
the previous query, I am one of the s48 users on Debian and I definitely
prefer that the package be kept up with upstream versions, regardless of the
status Slime48 (which apparently will never be ported to newer Scheme48
versions according to http://mumble.net/~campbell/slime48.html). Scheme48 is
up to version 1.8 now.

If Scheme48 1.3 is badly needed by someone, the existing 1.3 package still
exists and I suppose can always easily be forward ported.

I really hope that Schdme48 does not become orphaned in Debian (or has it
already?).

regards,
Tzvetan

  Previous version: 1:0.39.4-1

# didn't arrive on time, maintainer acks

The script that generates this mail tries to extract removal
reasons from comments in the britney hint files. Those comments
were not originally meant to be machine readable, so if the
reason for removing your package seems to be nonsense, it is
probably the reporting script that got confused. Please check the
actual hints file before you complain about meaningless removals.
