Package: caudium Version: 2:1.4.9.1-5 Severity: serious User: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Usertags: qa-ftbfs-20080413 qa-ftbfs Justification: FTBFS on i386 Hi, During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on i386. Bug#476060: edenmath.app: FTBFS: make: invalid option -- 2

This is not related to GCC 4.3, but a side issue of using the "gs_make" wrapper, which does not work with variables whose values have whitespace. Furthermore, using CFLAGS here is bogus as it does not have effect on ObjC code; OBJCFLAGS and OPTFLAG should be used. The fix is trivial, but we may have to remove edenmath.app from Debian due to licensing problems, so I'll leave that open until the future of the package becomes clear (hopefully w/i a few weeks). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". For normal kernels, make-kpkg from kernel-package makes a terrific job at creating new kernel-image packages with friends. In a perfect world it should be possible to easily create those packages for RTLinux patched kernels too. However the README.Debian gives no help on how it could be done. Although I don't fully understand what is done when a rtlinux patch is applied to the kernel I assume it messes to much with the core internals to be enough for RTLinux to provide a /usr/src/modules/ directory, but the modules should be able to build from such a directory? Creating a simple shell script to check that kernel version and patch versions correspond would help. And after that patching the kernel to produce a tree suitable to run make-kpkg in. Bug#99590: marked as done (rtlinux: Missing symlinks for some man pages)

Please contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] immediately.) -- 99590: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=99590 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: rtlinux Severity: normal Hi, An upcoming release of Debian policy, version 3.5.5.0, contains an amendment which clarifies the way man pages need to be installed. Until now, packages could install /usr/share/man/man1/foo.1.gz with 'foo, bar \- programs to do something' in the NAME section and have no corresponding symbolic link from bar.1.gz (policy suggested using a symbolic link, but wasn't clear that it's required), and our man program happened to magically figure it out for itself and display the right man page when you typed 'man bar'. However, guaranteeing that this would work even when you've recently installed some new packages has a serious performance impact on man, as it frequently has to go and look through the filesystem to update its database. Before woody's base system is frozen, I intend to remove this "feature" from man-db, so that its performance is consistent and acceptable for a reasonable number of people. It isn't a standard feature even among the various man page browsers in Debian, let alone in other Linux distributions, so there should be no compatibility problems. However, your package seems to rely on it, so this bug is being filed to let you know that the way some of your man pages are installed needs to be improved in order to work properly in woody. All you need to do, if you already have, say, foo(1) and expect bar(1) to work as well, is install a symbolic link to foo.1.gz as bar.1.gz (.so links and hard links are also OK, though symlinks are recommended). Here's a list of man pages and the names that don't appear anywhere in the filesystem: usr/share/man/man3/rtl_no_interrupts.3.gz: rtl_allow_interrupts usr/share/man/man3/rtl_no_interrupts.3.gz: rtl_restore_interrupts usr/share/man/man3/rtl_no_interrupts.3.gz: rtl_stop_interrupts If the list looks odd, please check man(7) to see if the man page is formatted properly. This output was generated by way of mandb, so if it's confused then users will be too; if it turns out that it's done the wrong thing, please reassign this bug to man-db so that I can fix it. I might not have caught symlinks that are created in the postinst (say, using alternatives); if that's the case, please close this bug. Please see bug #94995 and policy 3.5.5 section 13.1 for more information, and feel free to contact me if you need help. So I propose to have an debconf option at package installation that asks whether divine should be called on machine boot via init script. Also, a question for binding to the apmd resume event (in /etc/apm/event.d/) would be nice. Of course, for an linux expert, it is no problem to code such scripts themselves, but more and more "users" use linux and debian, so pre-written init scripts would be nice. If you don't have such on hand, I could try my best in writing those, and submit it to you. However, I don't know how to integrate such init scripts into the packages debconf interface. snacc make problem
Hi, Could you give the instruction how to make snacc (bbn-7.0.1)? I have try to download 1.3bbn-7.0.1, run patch -p1 < xxx.diff under snacc directory, is it right? then run ./configure, but failed, it seems that script has some problem. looking forward to your help. Hanson
Bug#475885: htdig: Creates db files in /etc
Quoting Chris Lamb ([EMAIL PROTECTED]): > tags 475885 + patch > thanks > > > htdig, after installation, creates db files in /etc/htdig, with a total > > of 6M! > > Patch attached. Alas, there is no seperate ./configure flag for these types > of files. As htdig is orphaned, I think that anyone can upload the fix. Just checking whether someone is...otherwise I can try to build and upload. Do you think that something should handle the transition ? That would indeed be the trickier task to achieve...more than just patch and upload. signature.asc Description: Digital signature
