Hi,

While reviewing packages that were not included in Etch, your package came
up as a possible candidate for removal from Debian, because:

* Orphaned
* RC Buggy since Years
* Low on popcon

If you think that it should be orphaned instead of being removed from Debian,
please reply to this bug and tell so.

If you agree, sending the following commands to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
should do it (after replacing nn with this bug's number):
severity nn normal
reassign nn ftp.debian.org
retitle nn RM:  -- RoM;
thanks

For more information, see
http://wiki.debian.org/ftpmaster_Removals
http://ftp-master.debian.org/removals.txt

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please just
close this bug, preferably in an upload also fixing the other issues.

Thank you,
- michael

Subject: open21xx: should this package be removed?
Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2007 22:57:30 -0700

I’m not sure what the format of this email should be but here goes
anyway…

I fixed a signed versus unsigned char problem that was causing the build
of open21xx to fail on some platforms. I believe open21xx now builds
successfully on all Debian supported platforms. You probably know the
answer to that better than I do. So I’m requesting that this bug be
closed. If you need any further clarification please contact me.

Keith Clifford

Package: stardict
Version: 2.4.8-1
Severity: normal

The stardict package will create a directory
'/usr/share/stardict/treedic' for tree dictionaries,
but this folder is incorrect since stardict uses
'/usr/share/stardict/treedict' (note the last 't').
This will confuse the user because they may extract tree dictionary to
'/usr/share/stardict/treedic' but cannot see the dictionary in stardict.

Version: 0.15-1
Severity: serious

Hi!

This bug has been filed on multiple packages, and general discussions
are kindly requested to take place on debian-legal or debian-devel in
the thread with Subject: "Non-free IETF RFC/I-Ds in source packages".

It seems this source package contains the following files from the
IETF under non-free license terms:

vpim-0.15/etc/rfc2425.txt
vpim-0.15/etc/rfc2426.txt
vpim-0.15/etc/rfc2445.txt

The license on RFC/I-Ds is not DFSG-free, see:
 * http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=199810
 * http://release.debian.org/removing-non-free-documentation
 * http://wiki.debian.org/NonFreeIETFDocuments

The etch release policy says binary and source packages must each be free:
 * http://release.debian.org/etch_rc_policy.txt

The severity is serious, because this violates the Debian policy:
 * http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-archive.html#s-dfsg

There are (at least) three ways to fix this problem. In order of
preference:

1. Ask the author of the RFC to re-license the RFC under a free
   license. A template for this e-mail request can be found at
   http://wiki.debian.org/NonFreeIETFDocuments

2. Remove the non-free material from the source, e.g., by re-packaging
   the upstream archive and adding a 'dfsg' version name to it.

3. Move the package to non-free.

I went over many packages looking for names of likely non-free files,
and there may be false positives. If this is the case for your
package, I'm sorry for the noise. I'll modify the scripts to take
into account false positives when I learn of them, and publish the
list of exceptions under "Known exceptions" at
.

Thanks,
Simon

Changes:
 celestia (1.4.1+cvs20070626-1) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Adopting this package. Closes: #374534
   * New upstream release. Closes: #345075
   * Use Dwayne C. Litzenberger's work on 1.4.1 packaging as a basis.
   * Move the KDE frontend to the celestia-kde package, and make the celestia
 package a dummy package that depends on any frontend, with celestia-kde as
 the first choice.
   * Use the alternatives system to let the celestia binary point to one of the
 installed frontends.
   * Rework the package descriptions:
 - Use a shorter and more to the point description, taken from the
   Wikipedia article on Celestia.
 - Add a link to the homepage.
 - Include the full description in all packages.
   * Bump standards version.
   * Rework the debian/copyright file.
   * Homogenise menu and desktop files.
   * Install more 3D models.
