Superd does not have a man page. This bug report provides a new man page
for the program (patch) and updates debian/rules.

Also, while writing the man page I noted that the option -d is not
mentioned by the program's usage comment:

usage: superd [-m numminions] [-l listenq] port absolutepathtobinary
[args] ...

The attached patch also corrects this, the usage is now:

usage: superd [-m numminions] [-l listenq] [-d debugfile] port
absolutepathtobinary [args] ...

+.SH DESCRIPTION
+.PP
+.I Superd
+turns any program that normally talks to stdin and stdout into a high
+speed server. It is similar in functionality to inetd but handles only
+one port per invocation and uses pre-forking and file descriptor
+passing to achieve high performance.
+.PP
+When calling
+.I superd
+the user provides a
+.I port
+and the
+.I absolutepathtobinary
+of the executable program along with any arguments that program may need.
+.I Superd
+then opens a socket on that port and redirects the program's
+stdin and stdout to the socket.
+.PP
+Stderr is redirected to /dev/null

Bug#420491: Anti-spam feature is bypassable

2007-04-22 Thread David Murn
Package: centericq
Version: 4.21.0-19
Severity: wishlist

This issue has been raised several times before, including I think by
myself as a submitter. The issue is primarily to do with spam on the
ICQ network. With the 'anti-spam' setting turned on, spam messages are
blocked, however ICQ allows spammers to spam with an authorization
request message.

It would be nice in some way, to be able to control incoming messages,
either on a message type (msg/auth) or protocol basis (icq/msn/jabber),
from within the client.

Hello,

The package is left unconfigured if /usr/doc is a symbolic link to
/usr/share/doc. Commenting out the line

rm -f /usr/doc/netcdfg-dev

in netcdfg-dev.postinst did the trick.

I'm not really sure about the severity of this (bug?) but perhaps it may be a
little piece of useful information to people having the same symbolic link like
me.

Hi,

It would be great if netcdf contained support for Fortran. I think all this
takes is a
copy of the include file (netcdf.inc [*]) and some compile switches.

My notes for doing this by hand:
# remove debian packages netcdfg-dev netcdf-bin libhdf4g-dev
# get netcdf.inc from unidata FTP site

CC=/usr/bin/gcc
CPPFLAGS='-DNDEBUG -Df2cFortran'
CFLAGS=-O
FC=/usr/bin/g77
FFLAGS='-O -Wno-globals'
CXX=/usr/bin/g++
../configure --prefix=/usr/local

make
make test
make install
g77 -o progam program.f /usr/local/lib/libnetcdf.a

I also had 'cfortran.h' v4.1 kicking around, not sure of its role.
(There is a debian package 'cfortran' which has v4.4)
Maybe nothing.   http://www-zeus.desy.de/~burow/cfortran/

[*] ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/netcdf.inc

Package: gnump3d
Version: 2.9.9.9-1

The current version of gnump3d produces broken links for movies. It
fails to strip the local root path from the filename before turning it
into a link.

For example, if I have a movie called movie.avi stored locally in the
directory /var/music/videos, then gnump3d produces the following link

movie

I am using Debian GNU/Linux testing/unstable

Thank you,
Chris
