Bug#382465: bugs
I've been reviewing this bug the last hours. I can confirm that this bug is _not fixed_, tla is not usable in ia64, and I suspect is the same in the other arches. In ia64, there is present a misalignment warning, and a segmentation fault. I could correct the latter, and I'm investigating the former. I suspect the bus error in sparc is attributable to the same problem with the alignment. I'm still working on this, and I plan to reopen the bug as separate bug reports. -- Martín Ferrari

Bug#382465: Fix for the FTBFS on ia64
reopen 382465 tags 382465 +patch thanks Hi, I could fix the FTBFS in ia64, which was caused by a segmentation fault in the command line processing, because there was missing a function prototype and gcc used a generic one which truncated a pointer. I include the patch to fix it. Still, I have found lots of places (10+) where something similar is happening, but I don't know how much do they hurt. And I couldn't fix the alignment error in hppa/sparc yet. --- invent.c2006-08-21 01:10:05.0 -0600 +++ src/tla/libarch/invent.c2006-08-21 01:15:37.0 -0600 @@ -16,6 +16,7 @@ #include "hackerlab/arrays/ar.h" #include "hackerlab/fs/file-names.h" #include "hackerlab/vu/safe.h" +#include "tla/libarch/cmdutils.h" #include "tla/libarch/inode-sig.h" #include "tla/libarch/inv-ids.h" #include "tla/libarch/invent.h" -- Martín Ferrari

Bug#382465: Fix for hppa FTBFS
Hi, I think I could fix the alignment errors. I had to change various things, as the code was totally unaware of alignment problems, and I really doubt that this ever worked on archs where correct alignment is mandatory. Please, look at it, as it changes the SHA1 code (and downgrades performance, I know, I tried to keep it as simple as possible). There were three problems WRT alignment: the buffer passed by the user is a char array, later interpreted as ints; the context buffer and the returned hash suffer the same problem. -- Martín Ferrari --- src/hackerlab/hash/sha1.c-orig 2006-08-21 19:28:34.585850524 -0300 +++ src/hackerlab/hash/sha1.c 2006-08-21 19:31:42.667183132 -0300 @@ -39,11 +39,11 @@ t_uint32 total[2]; t_uint32 buflen; - t_uchar buffer[128]; + t_uchar buffer[128] __attribute__((aligned(4))); }; static void -sha1_process_blocks (const void *buffer, size_t len, sha1_context_t ctx); +sha1_process_blocks (const t_uchar *buffer, size_t len, sha1_context_t ctx); #if MACHINE_IS_BIGENDIAN # define NOTSWAP(n) (n) @@ -124,7 +124,7 @@ { /* When we already have some bits in our internal buffer concatenate both inputs first. */ - if (ctx->buflen != 0) + while (len > 0) { size_t left_over = ctx->buflen; size_t add = 128 - left_over > len ? len : 128 - left_over; @@ -147,14 +147,17 @@ } /* Process available complete blocks. */ + /* if (len >= 64) { sha1_process_blocks (buffer, len & ~63, ctx); buffer = (const t_uchar *) buffer + (len & ~63); len &= 63; } + */ /* Move remaining bytes in internal buffer. */ + /* if (len > 0) { size_t left_over = ctx->buflen; @@ -169,6 +172,7 @@ } ctx->buflen = left_over; } + */ } @@ -191,6 +195,8 @@ /* Take yet unprocessed bytes into account. */ t_uint32 bytes = ctx->buflen; size_t pad; + /* Temporary array for solving alignment issues */ + t_uint32 tmp[5]; /* Now count remaining bytes. */ ctx->total[0] += bytes; @@ -208,11 +214,12 @@ /* Process last bytes. */ sha1_process_blocks (ctx->buffer, bytes + pad + 8, ctx); - ((t_uint32 *) result)[0] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.A); - ((t_uint32 *) result)[1] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.B); - ((t_uint32 *) result)[2] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.C); - ((t_uint32 *) result)[3] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.D); - ((t_uint32 *) result)[4] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.E); + tmp[0] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.A); + tmp[1] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.B); + tmp[2] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.C); + tmp[3] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.D); + tmp[4] = NOTSWAP (ctx->current_sha1.E); + mem_cpy (result, tmp, 20); sha1_context_reset (ctx); } @@ -329,7 +336,7 @@ It is assumed that LEN % 64 == 0. Bug#384119: etherconf should die
Package: etherconf Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable etherconf has issues and overwrite the settings from udeb netcfg. It does not set the default host name to 127.0.1.1, fill /etc/resolv.conf with garbage, overwrite netcfg /etc/hosts, fails to apply chanages to /etc/network/interfaces. I believe it to be harmfull in all use case (more to fix by hand afterwards than the configuration it provides). If only it could grab its data from the installation stages ... there would be a point in fixing it though as it is I believe it not to. Ought not it to be removed for etch ? Bug#241884: tbp-initarchive does not handle relative working_location correctly
Hi, Have you concrete examples for this problem? Did you try to reproduce bug with last version? For info, in last version of tbp-initarchive, we have: configfilename = os.path.expanduser('~/.tla-buildpackage') if os.path.exists(configfilename): print "%s already exists; not modifying" % configfilename else: print "Generating %s" % configfilename fd = open(configfilename, "w") fd.write("%s\n" % WCLOC) fd.close() Regards, -- Gregory Colpart <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> GnuPG:1024D/C1027A0E Evolix - Informatique et Logiciels Libres http://www.evolix.fr/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#372701: marked as done (xawtv: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD)
Your message dated Mon, 21 Aug 2006 16:17:24 -0700 with message-id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and subject line Bug#372701: fixed in xawtv 3.95-2 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: xawtv Severity: important Version: 3.94-1.2 Tags: patch Hi, the current version fails to build on GNU/kFreeBSD. It needs small changes to sources and restrict some packages only to Linux architectures. As binary v4l-info is Linux specific, it is moved from package xawtv into v4l-conf; xawtv depends (on Linux) on v4l-conf, so it shouldn't be problem. It would also be nice if you, as upstream, can include changes into official sources. Thanks in advance.
