Bug#287658: gengetopt 2.17 as new upstream?
tags 287658 +patch thanks Indeed, gengetopt could be upgraded to 2.17 which debianizes nicely. I think the gnu/kfreebsd related build failure is fixed in the upstream version, but someone should verify it? New interesting features include possibility to init and free memory used by the parser, which translates to nicer valgrind memcheck figures to some programs. At least cmdline_parser_configfile function changed its interface, but nothing too big. -Mikko diff -ur gengetopt-2.10/debian/changelog gengetopt-2.17/debian/changelog --- gengetopt-2.10/debian/changelog 2006-08-14 12:27:29.0 +0300 +++ gengetopt-2.17/debian/changelog 2006-08-11 15:47:40.0 +0300 @@ -1,3 +1,9 @@ +gengetopt (2.17-0.mkr01) unstable; urgency=low + + * New upstream + + -- Mikko Rapeli <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Fri, 11 Aug 2006 15:42:28 +0300 + gengetopt (2.10-2) unstable; urgency=low * QA Upload diff -ur gengetopt-2.10/debian/control gengetopt-2.17/debian/control --- gengetopt-2.10/debian/control 2006-08-14 12:27:29.0 +0300 +++ gengetopt-2.17/debian/control 2006-08-11 15:59:30.143207528 +0300 @@ -2,8 +2,8 @@ Section: devel Priority: optional Maintainer: Debian QA Group <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -Build-Depends: debhelper (>=3), flex-old -Standards-Version: 3.5.2 +Build-Depends: debhelper, flex, texinfo +Standards-Version: 3.7.2 Package: gengetopt Architecture: any diff -ur gengetopt-2.10/debian/copyright gengetopt-2.17/debian/copyright --- gengetopt-2.10/debian/copyright 2006-08-14 12:27:29.0 +0300 +++ gengetopt-2.17/debian/copyright 2006-08-11 16:24:49.802184248 +0300 @@ -7,14 +7,16 @@ gengetopt - generate a C function that uses getopt_long to parse command line arguments -Copyright (C) 1999 Roberto Arturo Tena Sanchez -Copyright (C) 2000 Free Software Foundation +Copyright (C) 1999, 2000, 2001, Free Software Foundation, Inc. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: asmounter Version: 0.3-3 Tags: patch Hi ! Debian asmounter has the following bug in Woody and Sid : - matching in /proc/mounts is poorly coded so on similar mount points, asmounter thinks the FS is already mounted and it won't let you mount it. Example: - I use the /usb mount point - but /proc/bus/usb is mounted - so asmounter thinks /usb is mounted and I cannot mount /usb ! Similar problems can occur, if you use /mnt/cdr and /mnt/cdrom for example... A trivial fix is included: it add spaces around the string to match to make sure that it won't match a substring. Also the URL in the debian/copyright file is dead. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: xchat Version: 2.4.1-0.1 Severity: important Whenever i use xchat it starts to consume a big amount of pixmap memory, as reported by xrestop. I'm currently running my system for about 2 hours and the usage is already up to 560234K. This usage also climbs during usage and eventually renders my box unusable when it swaps out a lot of this memory, and eventually fills the swap as well. I'm not sure if this problem is related to xchat, gtk, or my gtk engine. I see that the gtk2 engine i'm using (gtk2-engines-gtk-qt 0.60-1) is not in the list below of packages xchat depends on below. It only really happens with xchat (altough the gtk+ apps i'm using are on the top of the xrestop list), so i reported it with xchat. Currently, my xrestop output looks like this: xrestop - Display: localhost:0 Monitoring 21 clients. This fixes a large memory leak, and improves app startup speeds and responsiveness. (Closes: #300261) - Ensure tooltip text is always black - The theme no longer tries to override widget-specific colours set by applications or user RC files - Control Module: fix blank entry in style list - Add a workaround for a bug in OpenOffice where menus and toolbars were drawn incorrectly. . - Other bugs dissapeared in the new version: workrave does not crash anymore on micro-breaks (Closes: 354299) G
Bug#354299: marked as done (workrave crashes when using gtk2-engines-gtk-qt)
Your message dated Mon, 14 Aug 2006 17:32:12 -0700 with message-id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and subject line Bug#354299: fixed in gtk-qt-engine 1:0.7-1 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: gtk2-engines-gtk-qt Version: 0.60-2 Severity: normal When I start workrave (v. 1.8.1-1+b1, Debian package) with the "Use my KDE style in GTK applications" option checked in the KDE control centre, it crashes whenever the "Time for a micro-break" dialog is about to pop-up, with the following error message: The program 'workrave' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 1991 error_code 8 request_code 62 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) Also, if I try to start a rest break manually, it either crashes with the same error message, or keeps printing the following error message (only the serials change), but seems to work otherwise: X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major opcode of failed request: 62 (X_CopyArea) Serial number of failed request: 2252 Current serial number in output stream: 2379 None of this happens when I don't use the Qt style for GTK apps. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-686 Locale: LANG=cs_CZ.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=cs_CZ.UTF-8 (charmap=ISO-8859-2) (ignored: LC_ALL set to cs_CZ) Versions of packages gtk2-engines-gtk-qt depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.1-2 core libraries for all KDE applica ii libatk1.0-0 1.10.3-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.6-1GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcairo2 1.0.2-3The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libfontconfig12.3.2-2generic font configuration library ii libgcc1 1:4.0.2-9 GCC support library ii libglib2.0-0 2.8.6-1The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.8.12-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpango1.0-0 1.10.3-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-01.2.8rel-5 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.5-3 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm66.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++64.0.2-9The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxcursor1 1.1.3-1X cursor management library ii libxext6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxi66.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Input extension li ii libxinerama1 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System multi-head display ii libxrandr26.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Resize, Rotate and ii libxrender1 1:0.9.0.2-1X Rendering Extension client libra ii zlib1g1:1.2.3-9 compression library - runtime gtk2-engines-gtk-qt recommends no packages. -- no debconf information --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: gtk-qt-engine Source-Version: 1:0.7-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of gtk-qt-engine, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: gtk-qt-engine_0.7-1.diff.gz to pool/main/g/gtk-qt-engine/gtk-qt-engine_0.7-1.diff.gz gtk-qt-engine_0.7-1.dsc to pool/main/g/gtk-qt-engine/gtk-qt-engine_0.7-1.dsc gtk-qt-engine_0.7.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/g/gtk-qt-engine/gtk-qt-engine_0.7.orig.tar.gz gtk2-engines-gtk-qt_0.7-1_i386.deb to pool/main/g/gtk-qt-engine/gtk2-engines-gtk-qt_0.7-1_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
