I would like to adopt lua50

2006-08-09 Thread Enrico Tassi
It seems that lua50 is orphaned and the patch I prepared in response to
bug 378764 works.

I think I should take care of the package and upload the new version.

Do I need to do more than closing 339009 and changing the maintainer
field in the control file?

regards

No. Well, Zak B. Elep <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> showed intent to adopt, so you
could drop him a line, and you could set owner of the wnpp but to
yourself to indicate that now you intent to adopt it, but that's more a
matter of politeness than technical requirement if you make an upload
soon.

Do ensure to properly document that you adopt it in the changelog and
close the WNPP bug from that very same changelog entry.

I would very much welcome if Enrico can take it, although I may also
consider co-maintenance. I received mvela's auto(?)-ping about my
ITP, so I'm about to upload the new lua50 to mentors (it was already
there on the old incarnation of that service, but was unable to bring
attention to it until now.)

Any help in the package is surely appreciated. (New patches to old
bugs are very welcome!)

Cheers,

Zakame

icepref creates ~/.icewm/preferences
Icewm is not by default using that file, so configuration changes are
not visible, and therefore icepref is practically useless for normal
users.

I use debian unstable.

I suggest the icepref package is removed and replaced with for example
icewmcp (icewm control panel) or icepref2.

Hi, your package has been detected as generating a (for most of that
mass bug fill: private) python module/extension that may need an upgrade
to the new Python Policy[1].

A wiki page[2] explains what has to be done to upgrade your packages
to the new Policy. This bug may be a false positive, in that case,
please just close the bug.

This bug is part of a mass bug filling, and its severity will be
raised to serious when python will default to python2.4 (which should
happend on tomorrow - Wed 2nd of July). Please note that this bug (even
not being RC) falls under the 0-day NMU policy.

Special Notes

  * embedded interpreters: You don't *need* to do anything for your
package, though using XS/XB-Python-Version is much appreciated as it
helps tracking your package for binNMUs when python2.4 will become
default.

  * if you need help updating your package, you can either:
 - mail debian-python@lists.debian.org ,
 - tag your bug + help ,
 - come on #debian-python/OFTC.

IceME doesn't handle the 'runonce' directive -- which I happen to use quite a
lot, and mistakenly replaces these directives with separators.

The 'runonce' syntax is:

runonce

for instance,

Package: openmcl
Version: 0.14.2.p1.o
Severity: minor

During post-install of OpenMCL, the common-lisp-controller package dumps a new
Lisp image containing the CLC software. But the image file that it generates has
the wrong Unix file permissions, being writable by any user account:

$ ls -l /usr/lib/openmcl/
total 12272
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root4096 2004-08-26 09:42 binppc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 579 2004-08-02 17:23 install-clc.lisp
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root4096 2005-03-21 09:51 lib
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root4096 2005-03-21 09:51 library
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 6272808 2005-06-10 15:09 PPCCL
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 114132 2005-03-05 04:27 ppccl
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6128728 2004-08-26 09:53 PPCCL-clean

PPCCL-clean is the backup of the original image, and PPCCL is the new image
dumped by CLC. I think PPCCL's permissions should be 0644, the same as the
PPCCL-clean image.
