Bug#308912: marked as done (sawfish: 'Toggle>Ignored' seems irreversible with current user interface)

Package: sawfish
Version: 1:1.3+cvs20050222-1
Severity: normal

Right click on any program window "foo"'s titlebar, pick 'Toggle', then
click 'Ignored'. The "foo" titlebar vanishes, but the program window
stays. The Gnome 'Window List' panel applet still works, but it
doesn't control any Toggles.

Quit "foo", or close its window, then restart "foo" -- and its titlebar
is still gone. In 'Gnome-Sawfish' I haven't yet found any way, (if
there is a way under the currect user interface), to restore an
"Ignored" titlebar. The 'man' page and 'info' file aren't much help --
the 'man' page says to check the 'info' file, and the 'info' file
only describes the programming interface, not the user interface.

It would be better if it was possible to control those Toggles from the
'Window List' applet.

Hope this helps...

ybin and mkofboot hardcode /dev/nvram as the nvram device. devfs (and
udev, using devfs.rules) use /dev/misc/nvram instead.

The attached patch checks for both devices so that it will work on
both systems.

Please note that this patch depends upon #300946 to be fixed in
nvsetenv (powerpc-utils) before this patch will have any effect.

Ethan just does not understand that denying users new features in yaboot
will not persuade them to work on yaboot2.

This is not relevant, other RAID methods will not work with yaboot
even when in a type 82 partition (which is currently accepted).

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag

The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any

Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically

It is needed to see whether we have the same hardware.

That is why I want to dig the issue by knowing your hardware better.

The machine is not mine, but has 2 harddisks to reproduce the bug.

It is #18474, there are patches from both Ubuntu and Fedora we are
currently reviewing and that one is included. Expect a fix at the
next upload. ;)

The patch archive was being regenerated. This process seems to have been
started some hours ago, however, and I would not expect it to take this
long. CCing Scott to check on it.

This isn't a very constructive comment; it would have been more appropriate
to report this (transient) problem to Ubuntu instead.

If you'd send patches to the BTS, as has been suggested before, such
transient problems wouldn't affect us. Maybe this can be considered
again.

Package: sawfish
Version: 1:1.3+cvs20060518-1
Severity: important

sawfish inappropriately ships /usr/share/info/dir(.old).gz, leading to
a file conflict with the hebcal. Historically, this was symptomatic
of using old, broken, versions of automake; see
http://bugs.debian.org/214769 for details.

I haven't checked whether this explanation applies to either hebcal or
sawfish.

It takes about 6 hours to perform a scorched-earth regeneration of the
patch set. It's done main so far, and is into universe now.

As the new patches system hasn't yet been announced (Sesse jumped the
gun when he announced his RSS feed change) it didn't seem appropriate to
announce the downtime either.

This was discussed at Debconf and the PTS was selected as a more
appropriate target than the BTS ... and we have been sending things to
the PTS under the "derivatives" keyword for a while. Per-upload diffs
are coming soon.

Bug#375772: euler ships no .desktop

2006-06-27 Thread Vassilis Pandis
Package: euler
Version: 1.60.6fix-5
Severity: wishlist

Hello. euler currently lacks a .desktop file. A bug was filed against the
package in the Ubuntu
bugtracker [1] and you can find a .desktop file attached there. It would be
nice if this was
included in Debian as well.

Thanks for your time,
Vassilis Pandis

Bug#375792: ogle-gui: enable gtk2

2006-06-27 Thread Mike Hokenson
Package: ogle-gui
Version: 0.9.2-3
Severity: wishlist

It'd be nice to see ogle-gui built with gtk2 by default (--enable-gtk2). There
doesn't appear to be any ifdef's or special code, just include path and linking
library adjustments. Seems to behave the same (no major problems) and looks
alot better (depending on theme). :P
