Bug#331623: upgrade slang bug

It is true that dosemu is now compiled against libslang1 rather than
slang1 (Bug#321432), but it still hasn't migrated to libslang2, which
is what the submitter requested.

Thanks,

Matej

I do not know what your problem is, but the PPP session is successfully
negotiated and even DNS queries are exachanged. Your pings to
193.175.81.44 are rejected by 193.175.81.253 which is on the same
network, so the PPP link is working.

Well, I have no idea what might be the problem here. It is a fact that
I can perfectly ping 193.175.81.44 when I'm using the old ppp package
but I can not when I'm using the new package. Perhaps I should try
to ping www.debian.org - but I have to go to the box in question first.
It was just a random IP adress I'm regularly using ...

Kind regards

 Andreas.

Bug#348906: lmodern warnings with bullets and cdots

2006-01-19 Thread Elrond
Package: lmodern
Version: 0.92-7

Hi,

Running this simple .tex through latex gives warnings about
fonts:

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{lmodern}
\pagestyle{empty}

\begin{document}
\begin{itemize}
\item $\cdot$
\end{itemize}
\end{document}

The warnings are:

LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape S/lmr/m/n' undefined
(Font)  using S/cmsy/m/n' instead
(Font) for symbol extbullet' on input line 10.

The resultant .dvi or .ps or .pdf is okay.

The warnings are just annoying and keep one from noticing
real problems in the tex run.

I have not found any ways to workaround the warnings.

If the above useage is incorrect, it would be helpful, if
you could mention that in README.Debian (and to this
bugreport), as this seems the most obvious way of using it.

The vrweb package description states the following:
 The upstream team no longer supports VRweb as it has developed a
 replacement Java version named VRwave, also available from Debian.
 However, due to the state of of GUI support in the free Java
 implementations, you may be better off staying with VRWeb for now.

VRwave is not available in currenr debian sid. As such the 'also
available from Debian' should be stricken from the description.

Currently vrweb hardcodes netscape as the Help utility, so help is therefore
not available. README.Debian talks about the problem, saying mosaic is the
only alternative. But that was in 1999, surely we can do better in 2006!

Would it help to simply hard code "x-www-browser" instead of "netscape" in
the source code?

Drew

This should be OMS/.../m/n, not S/.../m/n.

Add \usepackage{textcomp} to your preaamble, and the warnings will go
away. In general one should (almost) always add \usepackage{textcomp}
when one uses \usepacakge[T1]{fontenc}
