Please find a translation of the debconf template into German attached.
Please copy the file de.po to debian/po/ (I assume your package uses
po-debconf(7))

Let me know if the templates changes, so that I can adjust the
translation. Warning translators before uploading the package and
leaving them a delay for translation updates is the best approach.

"grep Last-Translator debian/po/*po" will give you the needed addresses.

(this text is generic for "po-debconf switch" bug reports. If something is
specific to your package, look at the end of this BR)

Using the "new" gettext format for debconf templates helps for templates
translations. For instance, detecting outdated or untranslated strings
becomes considerably easier. It also keeps track of who did which translation.

The attached patch does the required modifications :
- debian/control modification for dependencies (see below)
- execute "debconf-gettextize debian/*templates*"
- removed files left by debconf-gettextize (*.templates.old which are the
old-style templates and *.templates.xx which are the former translated
  templates
- french translation proofreading (the file is debian/po/fr.po) if a french
translation (partial or not) already existed for the templates

Then diff file creation

If you want to reproduce this by yourself instead of applying the
patch, you have to do:

-install po-debconf on your system
-go to the debian directory
-read man po-debconf..:-)
-run "debconf-gettextize *.templates"
-read the output
-change Build-Depends or Build-Depends-Indep (see below)

Then you will pick up the fr.po file from my own patch (I often make small
corrections to existing french translations to make them conformant to
the existing standards of the Debian french l10n team).

Build Dependencies of the package have to become the following :

Build-Depends(-Indep) should list "debhelper (>= 4.1.16)" (debhelper
depends upon po-debconf) if you use debhelper, or "po-debconf"
directly if you don't (but, then, please look at po-debconf man page)

For more details, see po-debconf documentation, especially "man 7 po-debconf"

Read this if you're concerned with backports :

Please note that the suggested modifications will make your
package a little bit harder to backport to earlier Debian releases. If
this is a concern to you, you may try to adopt the method used by the
openssh package and detailed by Colin Watson in
http://lists.debian.org/debian-i18n/2003/debian-i18n-200307/msg00026.html";.

This patch does not includes this method as this would make it too
invasive, IMHO. So, preserving backportability is up to you...

Hello.

I intend to adopt csmash package. So I would like to know if this
bugreport is still actual?

You filled it on November 2002. Maybe some next release 0.6.5 or 0.6.6
fixed your problem?

I'll be very thankful for some comments on it.

regards

Bug#242698: missing build dep on libapm-dev

2005-08-07 Thread Hubert Figuiere
Severity: serious
Tags: experimental
Package: gnome-applets
Version: 2.6.0-1
Justification: does not build

There is a missing build dep on libapm-dev. Without that batt status
applet does not build due to missing apm.h

Note: there is a possible up-stream bug because this is not checked
properly at configure time.

Bug#242703: gnome-control-center: Does it work with Enlightenment ?

2005-08-07 Thread Pascal A. Dupuis
Package: gnome-control-center
Version: 1:2.4.0-9
Severity: minor

Hello,

I'm still using E as window manager. When I start
gnome-control-center, all I get is a nautilus window, with title
"preferences", and nothing more. So the question: is
gnome-control-center working with E ?

TIA

Pascal Dupuis

Bug#154506: problem in enscript packaging and/or textfmt

2005-08-07 Thread Toni Mueller

Hello,

the problem with textfmt/enscript is that in the suggested enscript
directory there is no "Fontmap" file. The "font.map" file is ignored by
textfmt. I manually created a Fontmap file along these lines:

/AvantGarde-DemiOblique (agdo.afm) ;
/AvantGarde-Book(agw.afm) ;
/AvantGarde-BookOblique (agwo.afm) ;

which at least let me submit the job w/o errors.

This almost looks like font.map is a successor of Fontmap, but not yet
understood by textfmt, right?

Best,

Bug#141554: more information

2005-08-07 Thread Bartosz Fenski aka fEnIo
Hello.

I intend to adopt csmash package. So I would like to know if this
bugreport is still actual.

You filled your bugreport on April 2002 so maybe one of the next release
fixed your problem? There were two releases since then, 0.6.5 and 0.6.6.

Could you give me some information about it?

regards
fEnIo

Bug#321852: [Fwd: Log for successful build of guppi_0.40.3-12 (dist=unstable)]

2005-08-07 Thread dann frazier
Package: guppi
Version: 0.40.3-12
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that will cause
your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a pointer is
greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64.

guppi_seq_boolean_new() isn't defined in any header files I can find. I
do see a guppi_seq_boolean_new_aligned in
src/libguppidata/guppi-seq-boolean.c, but it is wrapped in an #ifdef 0.

Google finds a suggested fix here:
  http://mail.gnome.org/archives/guppi-list/2004-February/msg2.html
Though I can't remark on its correctness. The patch below implements
this suggestion and has been compile-tested.

Package: zeiberbude
Severity: normal

Hello,

Long description is: "This package contains the Zeiberbude server and
documentation.". Considering that the name of the package is
"zeiberbude", I would have guessed that, thanks.

Please have another read of the developers-reference, section
"6.5.3.2. Description: short and extended description",
then by all means, try again.

I particular I suggest to cover what does "zeiberbude" does, and why
should one user need it. Keep in mind that short and long descriptions
are used by people to decide if they should install the package or not.

All of this of course also applies to zbdesk.

Bye,

Enrico

Zeiberbude crashes when resizing the window, basically when making it
smaller. It exits with a floating point exception.

To test it, grab the app botton right border, and try to make the window
smaller. It crashes.
