Package:  tex4ht
Version:  20030426-2

Since some month the official tex4ht version provides a script for
converting latex 2 openoffice sxw. That's why it would be extremely
convenient to upgrade tex4ht, at least for the unstable branch.

Thanks

Would you please update tex4ht to latest version? Its author just did
annual upload of it to CTAN. It has these features I am interested in:

- Documentclass called memoir supported
- Package called verse supported
- According to author of tex4ht bugs #217385 and #229362 are not present
  anymore.

Justification: Policy 2.2.1

The C files in the temp subdirectory are apparently autogenerated from
the real source code. Therefore, I don't think the package is free
software according to the DFSG.

Hello,

For the current testing version of ghostscript the following seems
to offer a much simpler and quicker conversion mechanism for tex4ht.

snipped from tex4ht.env wrapped for readability---
% Alternative script using ghoscript with direct png support:
Gdvips -E -q -Ppdf -f %%1 -pp %%2  | \
  gs -sDEVICE=pngalpha -sOutputFile=- -r110x110 \
  -dEPSCrop -dBackgroundColor=16#ff \
  -dTextAlphaBits=2 -dGraphicsAlphaBits=2 \
  -q -dbatch -dNOPAUSE - -c quit > %%3
end of snippet--

The advantage is that dependency on imagemagick and/or netpbm is
removed.

Regards,

Kapil.

Package: tex4ht
Version: 20030426-2

Current version of tex4ht hangs with this simple example-file:

- Clip here -

\documentclass[finnish]{article}

% Finladization or Finlandisierung:
%\usepackage[latin9]{inputenc}
%\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[finnish]{babel}

%\usepackage{everyshi}

\usepackage{hyperref}

%\usepackage{totpages}

\begin{document}

%\selectlanguage{finnish}

\section{Abstract}

\ref{TotPages}

\end{document}

- Clip here -

Try to compile it with everyshi and totpages enabled, too. totpages must
be downloaded from CTAN. It is not icluded to teTeX version that Debian
has right now.

So, go and get bugfixes here:

http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/~gurari/TeX4ht/bugfixes.html

Author of tex4ht claims his/her latest version of tex4ht does not hang
with that example file. try.log is a compilation log from his/her machine.
tmp.log is compilation log from my machine.

Version: 20030426-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

by default, htlatex produces .gif files despite the line "g.png" in
/etc/tex4ht/tex4ht.env. Additionally, I didn't find a way to manually
change this behaviour on the command line with "-g" as documented in the
man page.

I could reproducible this on quite different sid installations.

bye,
  Roland

Bug#297285: zed: FTBFS (amd64/gcc-4.0): cast from 'int*' to 'int' loses precision

2005-02-28 Thread Andreas Jochens
Package: zed
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

When building 'zed' on amd64 with gcc-4.0,
I get the following error:

g++ -O2 -Wall   -o lowl.o -c lowl.cc
lowl.cc: In function 'int exectst(int*)':
lowl.cc:1462: error: cast from 'int*' to 'int' loses precision
lowl.cc:1471: error: cast from 'int*' to 'unsigned int' loses precision
make[1]: *** [lowl.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/zed-1.0.5'
make: *** [build.stamp] Error 2

With the attached patch 'zed' can be compiled
on amd64 using gcc-4.0.

Regards
Andreas Jochens

 Do those gardners regret walking carefully?
 And what were the results? Let me tell you some stories:
 I am missing working right now.

 My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I'm right.
 Those bus drivers aren't missing praying on the street just now.
